Went and got fitted for crown for half-shattered tooth. Bit down to seat the crown as instructed. Heard *crunch* *crunch* *crinkle* *crinkle* and got a piece of crown veneer on my tongue. Going back in a few weeks for new crown.
Had a thought the last time I was at the dentist's: Being a zombie would make dental work easier. Just send in the upper or lower jaw.

But what would happen when said Zombie had the put the jaw back in, Julie? Click and clack? Why did the crown chip away? I hope it works better the second time around.
Hi Helena. I have never heard of Sherrilyn Kenyon but thanks for the recommendation.
Hi Kayanne! It's great to hear from you. How's married life? Are you being treated like a Princess? I quite like the idea of working from home but I don't think my industry would allow that and my easily distractible nature wouldn't be suited. Ha!

Has anyone been watching the turmoil unfolding again in Egypt? Such a sad mess.
It's now mid-August and we still haven't had a proper winter season. This week Tuesday had a high of 28 degrees Celsius. That's just bizarre. Dallas is sweltering in hot Texan weather and we're wearing t-shirts and shorts. Apparently the long range weather forecast is that we may have an above-average wet and stormy Summer and that Christmas 2014/2015 may bring another flood. How much more can Queensland take?
What's the best practical joke you've ever played on someone? Mine included a real police officer, a fake arrest warrant and an interrupted staff meeting ... She messed with "The Nay".

Posted a fake department seminar on an April Fool's Day in grad school with liberal references to the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. All the faculty (fortunately for me) were warned by other faculty who caught the joke. Some grad students did not, and they kept knocking on the door of the seminar room, which was actually occupied by the Graduate Studies Committee faculty trying to have a meeting. After half-a-dozen or so interruptions, the Committee (which included MY major professor) posted a sign on the door that the seminar was an April Fool's Day joke. One of my friends, who ran from her apartment to make it on time, tried to wring my neck.

Third frigging time I've tried to post on this iPad. Not a happy camper!
Julie, you tricked a whole faculty group. Did you have a target on your back the next April Fool's Day?

It's 7am Sunday morning here in Ausland and I have mopped the kitchen and lounge twice already. That should tell you my mood. Off into the garden shortly while it is cool.
The All Blacks defeated us in the first of the Bledisloe Cup matches last night. Dammit, the Wallabies can't catch a cold despite a new coach. Maybe my five year old nephew could help. Someone needs to put a hex on those sheep lovers.
Have you seen the horror scenes overnight from Egypt? There were protests outside the Egyptian Embassy here yesterday and more happening today.

The next year a faculty wrote the April Fool's Day seminar announcement.
I'm ignoring Egypt.
All Blacks sheep lovers beat Wallabies. No further comments.
Why did you mop things twice?

Mopping twice was done because my pine floor boards have lost their shone. Within half an hour of drying, they look unclean again. When I can afford to, they'll be re-polished.
Why are you ignoring Egypt?
I'm ignoring your Wallabies comment.

What exactly are the new claims that suggest Princess Diana's death was suspicious? Something about the ex-parents in law of a British soldier/police officer??? I wonder cynically if this is timed to boost interest in the movie of her life.

Apparently somewhere in a southern state, we had snow fall this weekend. For them, winter is not quite done. For us Queenslanders, we have mild nights and warm days. Go figure!

I'm waiting on a quote to have the verandah re-sanded/re-polished so I don't want to put anything strong on it that could interfere, Julie. But when it is done (dark) and the walls are painted white, it should be beautiful - hopefully in time for summer and long, cool drinks with friends.

Sadly, I awake this morning to a new Prime Minister and Federal Government. Australia is about to enter a period of fear and uncertainty. The massive job cuts, funding shifts and ignorant bully boy tactics that Queensland has been experiencing for the past eighteen months are about to spread across the entire nation.

That song is wonderful, Dallas. What a great voice! I've looked them up to learn more about their style.
BTW I made a bet with a friend tonight that our new Prime Minister will make a social/political gaff within the next month (he said a fortnight). Buffoon is a word that comes to mind.
Julie, I am a Queenslander which is why I know there have been monstrous jobs cut from Government departments since our newish Liberal Party Premier raced through the doors of Parliament.
