Ouch, Sharabella! I fell in the driveway last week. My lower shin has a bone bruise and I don't know how I didn't sprain my hand.

Hello everyone! Just checking in from work ... thanks everyone for keeping this place up and running!

I'm scheduled to close on my house this Friday...fingers crossed. Apparently USDA ran out of money and were running behind on getting loans through. It's been a long, tough road and I hope it will be worth it once I get moved in. The poor cats have been caged since Sept 28.

Sharabella, glad to hear you didn't break bones. You must've fallen on your whole leg all at once, instead of hitting a particular spot first. Bruises are ugly, but you don't need rehab for them.

I want safety bars in my bathroom. And in the kitchen, and by the doors that lead outside. I've slipped in the tub/shower but luckily never fell.

DK, good luck with the closing. It will be worth having all that lovely space to yourself. Still gotta be careful in tornado weather. Oh, your cats are going to be so mad at you.

I've needed bifocals for years. I haven't gotten them. I take my glasses off to read. I hate picking out new frames.

So Halloween, Nay. Who cares if the designer designed them for men or women. The only real difference is that they can accomodate wider faces.

My crud has moved down my digestive tract. I make mad dashes a lot the last couple of days. The stuffed up has changed to sudden nose drips. Irritating in a different way. I feel normal mostly.

Waiting to hear DK scream from 2 cats attacking her with their freedom.

What would doctors do about the crud? Rest and stay hydrated? Keep away from the doctors (so they don't get it)? Take over-the-counter decongestant, etc.? Besides, I feel like I'm picking up a myriad of diseases in the waiting room. Not going unless there's something they can actually do.

I don't think I could ever afford Ray Bay... But they are spiffy... I'm going in for a doctor visit ... high blood pressure out of control... And eye doctor.. Way over due with both....

Leg still hurts like the huge, purple mess it is. Bruising is much less though I still don't understand how a bruise from an injury at my knee can go all around my leg. The swelling and bruising, while much better, has gone downward and now has reached my foot. What fun. It might feel better if I didn't have to work six days this past week.

OK enough gripping. I'm thinking about taking a Caribbean cruse next fall. Does that sound like fun?

I'm here! It's been crazy. Sorry I didn't check in, but the Charter guy informed me they didn't service my house (despite them telling me otherwise over the phone when I scheduled it), so I was without internet AND cable until this evening...er, morning. Right now I'm tethering through my cellphone until I can figure out something to do about getting another provider. Hopefully the DirectTV guy won't tell me the same thing when they come on Tuesday morning to connect my satellite TV. Such is the curse of living in the boonies. I could keep this internet for a while if it works okay. Bad thing is it has a cap (5 GB), but I was paying for it anyway and it was only $5 more....as long as it doesn't keep cutting out like it did at my brothers. It seems to work better here.

I have a real mess trying to get everything unpacked, and yes the cats are mad but they'll have to get over it. Right now I have them off in a room until they get acclamated, since I'm afraid they might spray or something. Plus the house has been more than hectic since last Friday with everyone coming in and out.

It felt weird not being on the forum for so long, I hope everyone is doing okay.

Shara, hot weather anything isn't for me. A cruise does sound like fun, but the location and temperature don't agree with me. When you fell I'm sure you didn't just hit your knee but your whole leg. As long as it still works, you're good.

It's 34F when I got up this morning. WHEEEEEEEEEE! All I've got now is a runny nose and a backache. Didn't sleep well. Kept dreaming about someone else messing with my leftover pizzas (which I don't have in real life because hubby ate them all.)

Hello again! I'm still having problems getting internet. I'm tethering through the phone but I just got a bill from my cellphone with a $40 overage charge. I'm hoping that's a mistake, because I thought they told me after I reach the cap it simply slows the service instead of charging me, but I'll have to go to the T-Mobile store on Monday when I go back to work to make sure. The service is spotty out here too. AT&T has better coverage here, but I have a service contract with T-Mobile due to my new phone.

Also, AT&T (which partners with Direct TV, my satellite provider) said I'm not wired for internet...only phone (which I don't need). I'm hoping something can be done, but at this point the only viable option I have is the tethering. I had to log on today to pay some bills, so I thought I'd check in to see how things were going with everyone.

We miss ya, DK. I know you are ready for things to get back to normal.....such as normal is. How are the kids adjusting?

The kitties are downstairs, beginning to settle down but Whiskers still takes to hiding underneath the sofa I left down there. Angel is her usual curious self, getting into everything, including the garage. Coco LOVES it and thinks everything belongs to her.

The cruse isn't till next October, so I have a year to get my passport and find a bathing suit or two. (and trust me----that's a scary thought--the Grand Caymans may never be the same)

I don't wear heels. Need to get conceal carry license to tote gun, and it would be a 9mm, not .45, too heavy. Don't wear rhinestones, either, but will wear real amethysts.

October could be bad, the tail end of hurricane season. Just look at Sandy and Rita.
