Guess who's back.....
They were over 4 hours late and it took them another 3 or so to get it all completed, but at last I'm connected. I found out tonight that my wireless router no longer works, so I will have to take care of that tomorrow.

Hey ladies! Right now I'm setting here waiting for my ride. Missy is at the vet---Yes, it broke my heart to leave her there, but I kept telling her that Mama would be back for her. Packed way too much stuff. I hope I don't sink the ship.
There's my ride------see you later!

Have fun Sharabella! You're going on a cruise, right? That's still on my bucket list...one of these days, maybe.
I got a new wireless router today and after much trial and cursing this evening, I think I'm finally back in business. Be gentle, it's been over a year...

Hi, DK! Bon voyage, Shar (maybe she'll have internet on the cruise)! Hi, everyone!

This is blaring throughout my house right now. If only I had some of those drum mallets to beat on every surface as I danced around, I'd be all set.

That Gavin DeGraw song is kind of like a cross between Train and Mumford & Sons:

I'm here! I love to see the passion those Mumford boys put into playing, Dallas. Easily my favourite song this year. Your Gavin McGraw guy has a gat song and I could see you jumping around your home. The boys gave me a funny look as I bounced on the couch. Hahahaaaa
My contributions to the party...
I dare you not to laugh at this guy.

That guy can dance! So that's what happens to people who don't make it as a dancer.
Don't have anything to add to the party at the moment.
Ok, saw this on youtube. Neat.

Damn, that was so clever, Julie. I'll show it to my kids tomorrow.
Random:
My two new roses (Red Pierre de Ronsard) are thriving in their new spots. Fingers crossed for many blooms. I know I'm still learning about gardening but it has only just occurred to me that working smartly through the other three seasons means Spring is surprisingly low maintenance. Compost, feed, mulch ... and repeat. Everything in life has a cycle, doesn't it.
Calling all cooks! Please give/send me a fail proof dessert recipe for Sunday lunch. Main meal will be a pumpkin, spinach and feta frittata with a side salad. H..E..L..P..

What about plain cheese cake with berries? Or something simple like raspberry sorbet? I think your meal sounds like it should have a light dessert to go with it.
I'm on a sugar free diet now until the end of the year, and then very little afterwards from now on. I've also given up aspartame. Do you know how difficult it is to avoid aspartame? It's in EVERYTHING. So I'm basically giving up sugar for good. And no more Diet Coke.
So I am not a good person to ask about desserts.....
BTW, my favorite dessert is pound cake. Simple, but oh so yummy.

Raspberry sorbet sounds perfect. Thanks, Dallas. A friend puts vanilla icecream into brandy snap cases and makes a raspberry sauce to drizzle. That's my fallback idea.
Giving up sugar? That's hard yakka. You're a stronger person than me. Try and get your hands on this book, Dallas. It might help.

I love angel food cake. Haven't had any in a while. Need to make some.
A medley of cold plain bite size fruits works for me. You can top or toss them with coconut shavings, or honey. If you bake well you can make fruit tarts.
Now I need coconut shavings.

Between my nephews 11th birthday party, a luncheon at work today and the World Series, it's been a busy week....checking in. Whattup y'all...
Random: Coco loves carrots and celery. I should start substituting them for the expensive doggy treats I keep buying her.

Hi, DK! Carrots and celery are probably tons better for her than those treats. I noticed the Cards are in the World Series and we won't hear from you much until it's over.
Kid got class award for living the Catholic faith. I'm impressed and proud. She's definitely behaving much better at school than at home.

Hello all! Glad to hear you're alive and socialising.
Living the catholic faith is hard in a modern world, Julie. You should be proud of your sprog. We call them school angels and home devils.
Random:
I'm having guests for lunch tomorrow. Serving feta, pumpkin and spinach frittata (good old faithful), chick pea and tomato salad, green salad, raspberry sorbet and chocolate cake.
I may fall into a food coma and need an afternoon nap.
My boys would turn their nose up at celery and carrot but love cooked rice, cheese cubes and apples.

I'm back in the real world. Darn it. I had a blast. Ate too much, drank too much and almost went blind from staring at impossibly blue water and sky. I could become accustom to it. (that is , once I get over the exhaustion ) I actually didn't take many pictures myself. My travel buddies had better cameras, so I'm going to get copies from them.
Missy has forgiven me for going away. I admit that it feels good to be home.

More pics please, Shar. Have you started work again? I find the relaxing buzz of holidays disappears too quickly when the reality of work raises its necessary head.
Hi Julie, Dallas, Sami, Donna, Pisces, Kay and guests. How are you all?
Randoms:
A interesting week in Australia.
Rain finally hit our city and gardens and lawns and crops and tanks. Such a glorious sound and smell.
A controversial would-be politician has finally made it into the Federal arena and is about to stir the pot big time.
Rupert Murdoch gave a speech on some topic (including Australia's need to grab the best/brightest from Asia) and touched on freedom of the press .... But then refused to allow ANY reporters present to ask him questions. Go figure!
Snowden says Australia is spying on Indonesia. I shrug my shoulders and say "Who isn't and should be doing it?"

Yes, Australia needs to grab the best and brightest from Asia. Please. Keeps them from coming over here and teaching poorly and taking our jobs.
Everybody spies on everybody. Nothing new. Move along.
