We still need more rain. The floods are not near me.
Nay, your garden sounds nice.

Yep, you got me Nay. I wanted to wear buns on my head and go to San Diego. But alas, Coco needed to lose her lady bits so I decided to go to visit the family instead.
I was going to stay another night, but decided to come home this evening instead. Coco is doing well, considering. But she's hyped up on pain meds and is kinda groggy, so I thought it best to bring her home to familiar surroundings and quiet. She got rather cranky earlier today and snapped at my brother's pug, who was doing nothing more than sniffing her hello.
While I was down there, I took a look at a few houses. One caught my eye, I think it would be perfect for me and my furbabies if I can manage to sell mine. It has lots of greenery outside, and a covered back porch. No basement which isn't good, but it's a biggish house otherwise.

Oo-la-la, those buns! They curled many a man's toes.
Wouldn't you be a touch cranky if you had just lost some important bits? D'em pugs push their squashed up faces where they don't belong too. My boys are always being molested by my neighbour's female pug. Give her lots of cuddles and good comfort food.
Lots of greenery sounds perfect, Donna. Fingers crossed!

The rain hasn't paused yet and the chill has just arrived. Gotta love Mother Nature.
Thanks, Julie. When the sun appears again, I shall post an updated photo.

A good friend in Warcraft just got a Chihuahua puppy. All my pals are getting new pets. I want one, too.
*surveys messy house, sees potential pet toilets everywhere, no pets incoming*
I need more shelvings. I need more money. I need fewer bugs.
Neighbor lady came over to ask for some cuttings from our gardenia bush because it smells really nice and really strong. Cool! I love my gardenias when they bloom.

Sorry about the bad lighting.
I think Coco is feeling much better. She hasn't shown so much energy since last Friday morning.

Two things ...
1. Do you really want to teach your pup to howl, DK? Think about it.
2. Bud just came running into the room with his gorgeous head tilted to see where the other dog was!

I feel blah.... My daughter has a friend with luekemia... And it doesn't look good...
My daughter is writing her first book and donating her first earning to the cancer association or to St. Jude's....
My daughter and her friend were friends since they were in diapers. But certain relatives will not allow anyone near the family ....
*sigh.... I need caffeine to cope....

Thank you... At the moment she is all zombied out and watching t.v. I know this is really hard on the family.... Remembering the birth to bring life and just for some stupid illness to take it all away...
It seems cancer has no boundaries, no manners, no mercy not even on a child who just barely begun to live.
But what can I do ? I feel like my hands are tied behind my back and there is not a thing I can do to relieve my daughter of this loss..

Helena, I'm not being flippant when I say that death is a part of the cycle of life. Teach your daughter by example how to handle such tragedies and hurdles.

This week has been full of extremes. Friend was sacked from his long-time job. Incredible pressure at work due to important celebratory functions. Illness. Interviews. Lack of support and faith all the way to glowing praise and recognition.
Quite bizarre in ways and not a week I ever want to repeat.

I hate cancer. I pray for the day they find a cure for it.
It's been a mournful day. I didn't know any of the victims in Aurora, CO, but my heart is still heavy for them. I wish something extremely good would happen in the world to counteract all of the bad that is happening.
America needs rain. And healing. As does the world.
Random: (and on a lighter note) My puppy is healing up quite nicely, good Lord willing. To think just one week ago, she was in so much pain. Now she's jumping around wanting to play. And bringing me every toy she owns.

I was further saddened this evening to learn that the writer of this song, Steve Richardson, passed away in January of this year. I had the pleasure of hearing him perform in person a number of times. He was not only a great Christian man, but a very witty one. He died too young....

I'm not sure how he passed, Sami. The article didn't say. He was a pianist and a songwriter. I have one of his CD's with nothing but instrumental piano music on it. It's lovely.
Yes, Coco is growing to be a big girl now. She's on day 9 after her surgery, so I guess it's okay to let her climb steps and jump around now (not that it's very easy getting her to stop that anyway). She has a pretty big scab on her belly, though. It just seems to be a normal scab right now, but I need to keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't become infected. It doesn't seem to be hurting her or anything, because she lets me touch it (and there's no heat around it).
Books: I've mentioned before that I'm reading The Hunger Games trilogy. Now I'm on the third and final book "Mokingjay".
Random: I dreamed last night that I went to Australia.

When are the new glasses coming, Julie? How do you handle working with the computer screen?
I haven't been tempted by those 'Fifty' books just as I wasn't by the Twilight or Hunger Games ones, Donna. Not sure why.

A challenge has started for me - giving up cutting right down on sugar. Not just the outright and obvious but the hidden ingredient stuff as well. I recently bought 'Sweet Poison' by David Gillespie which made me closely examine packaging for sugar (fructose) content. My grocery shopping took twice as long!
It's truly scary how much sugar has crept into processed food over the past one hundred years. Since identifying its influence over me in times of stress (this whole year) and as a source of flavour, I have actually lost bloating around my stomach and feel distinctly better. My pants are a lot looser and my energy levels are more sustained rather than reliant on mid-afternoon hits. I can't see myself entirely giving it up but I have certainly become more aware of its presence and dangers.
