I'm just happy that I made it through another day of work unscathed. I found out this morning that ALL of production was layed off yesterday - ALL of production (with the exception of supervisors and management, of course).
Nay, I've seen that GIF before. I saved a copy of it from Photobucket, I believe. Here's another one I saved (I put the picture as a link to protect the innocent and decent)...

I've succumbed, like the sucker that I am, to Alexander McCall Smith and his vivid imagination. No #1 is underway. If all this Scottish literature poisons my mind, blame my friends.

It's not too late to fall in love with Robert Burns.

I don't know how I feel right now. I'm going between bouts of hurt, worry, numbness, and anger. I'm PO'd that the company I worked for made me all of these promises and lured me away from a stable position I held for 10 years, only to drop me like a hot potato when the going got tough and they didn't want to pay me anymore.
Arseholes.
And I'm doubly hurt and angry that my father somehow feels it's my fault that this happened to me, as if I'm being punished. No, I'm not a perfect church going Christian, but I try my best to treat people right and not hurt them. I'm hardworking, honest, and ethical...why is that such a bad thing?

Is that what your father says to his parishioners when they come to him for comfort and solace?
I thought only the Jews and Catholics had historic guilt heaped upon their collective heads. You know that whole "You killed Jesus!" "No, you did!" thing.
PM DK.

I saw that...Nay!
In all honesty, dad really wants me to 'get back to God', and I'm not saying he's wrong. But I don't get why he feels the need to put a guilt trip on me right now, of all times. I don't think God draws people to Him through guilt...I thought it was done through love. Personally, I would never want someone to stay with me out of guilt or obligation, and I don't think God does either.
I just found out another one of my friends got laid off. He just emailed me this afternoon (though I think his is temporary). In all honesty, I wouldn't be surprised if the entire company goes belly up before this is all over. If that be the case, then the ones who got laid off are the ones who have it better, because at least we get 60 days of pay. Trust me, my company would not have done that willingly. The LAW demands they do so. How ironic.

I'm so sorry to hear your news, DK. Don't you ever, no matter who it is, let anyone lay a guilt trip on you. God does not punish people and God had nothing to do with you're being laid off. Your stupid employers made wrong choices and their employees are suffering because of them. There are no words to try to make you feel better. Just know that I'm thinking of you.

Thanks again, everyone!
I'm watching the local news right now, and word has it that 90% of the employees were laid off. At this point, I'm wondering if the company itself will even survive.

How was Mexico, Bird? Tell all.
Just finished my 6kms before breakfast and saw a slapworthy sight along the way. A little punk was standing on one side of the road while what looked like his girlfriend walked barefoot across the road in front of my bike. As I drew nearer, I saw what she was walking towards - shoes in a ditch. His face was sullen and a bag and wallet was on the ground at his feet. My guess is the little moron had just been dumped (or had a huge shoe throwing tantrum) and was making his girlfriend pick up her shoes! If I had just raised my left hand from the bike, I could have connected with his sour face. Should I??

Sorry to change the subject but.....I'M BAACK!!!
The cruise was fantastic, the weather was fantasic, the food was everywhere. The days at sea were ruff as hell as both coming and going we ran into storms. Not to worry tho neither my husband nor myself got sea sick. My husband spoilt me rotten and bought me the most beautiful ammolite ring in St. Thomas! But most of all I'm glad to be home.
By the way I happy to most heartily agree with LadyNOLA and Dk's view on God. He is an entity of TRUE LOVE and TRUE GRACE.
