| I'm all for pooling our money as much as possible. I'm not sure yet if I'm staying the whole weekend at S.D., so I may just buy a one day pass. If you want to room together while I'm there, great! | |

| This from the ComicCon website:
COMIC-CON HOTEL RESERVATIONS WILL OPEN THURSDAY, MARCH 19, 9:00 AM PDT
On or after March 19, call the Comic–Con Housing Desk at 1–877–55–COMIC (1–877–552–6642) or 212–532–1660 or come back to this page (bookmark it now!) for more info and online reservations.
Hotels at Comic-Con International are always hot commodities and most book up early. Room inventory is constantly monitored for availability and updated frequently. Visit this page or call the Comic–Con Travel and Housing Desk at 1–877–55–COMIC on or after MARCH 19, 2009. Outside the U.S., please call 212–532–1660. Please do not call the phone numbers before that date, as they will not be operational until March 19.
NOTE: We have not been allotted enough rooms by the hotels to meet the demand. Rooms do fill up within the first few hours so you may want to book a room directly with the hotel of your choice now.

| I wanna go but I don't have a job!! If I'm still unemployed by the end of June, I'm going to start walking. I mapped it on Google Maps, and it said it would take me about 24 days and 8 hours. I don't know if that's including sleep or not. I guess I could always walk in my sleep. | |

| LOL!!!!! You're going! We just have to map out when the premiere of Game is, too. If we all room together, it should be cheap. Cozy....but cheap. LOL! | |

| Game isn't scheduled to open in the theaters until September 4. I would imagine the premiere for that would be in August...but that's just speculation on my part. I would imagine they will be pushing it at ComicCon, though. | |

| I could kick myself because I forgot to book my room until this morning, and all they have left are three hotels about 7 miles away. I went ahead and booked a room, just in case.
The only way I can swing this is if I have roommates. That, and it's ALL contingent on me finding employment. If that doesn't happen, I'll have to cancel the room and the trip. But I have until July 8 to cancel before I have to pay a penalty, so I'm not out any money at the moment.
The hotel is called The Dana on Mission Bay, and it's right by the beach and within walking distance to SeaWorld. It has two queen beds, so I can theoretically share with three other people.
The total cost with tax would run about $1400 - four to a room, and that's about $350/each. Right now flights from St. Louis are cheap - about $208. I just hope that they stay that low, because I don't want to book a flight until I know I can go for sure. That, and I'll get a rental car in lieu of taxis. I don't believe this hotel has a shuttle service to the con.
Of course at this point everything is contingent on me finding a job, so if I don't get employment soon and have to start dipping into my savings, etc....I'll have to cancel.
ETA: I booked the room July 21-27. Since I have a four day pass, I want to arrive on Tuesday and leave the following Monday.

| I had a second job interview today, and depending on how that goes I might have to cancel ComicCon; meaning, if I get this job, I won't be able to take any days off for the first 90 days. If that happens and I have to cancel, I might shoot for TIFF instead.
I guess I'll know either way in the next couple of weeks.

| LOL! Found out my hotel is on Whitely Ave. I remember my brother and his girlfriend lived on that street. Not the best area, but great old Hollywood buildings. Not to mention, I could walk to Hollywood Blvd...and to the premiere. Wow....staying in this area is going to be deja vu. | |

| Trying to figure out how to "cheat" the system, since the flights to San Diego went up to over $400.
Okay, here's the deal. I have enough frequent flyer miles to fly "to" San Diego for free...but not enough to fly back. If I purchase the miles needed, I might as well go and buy a non-stop ticket and forget about it. So here's what I thought I'd do....
Use the FF points to buy a ONE-WAY ticket, well not actually buy, it would be free. Then purchase the ticket back. That way I could get there and back for under $200.
My question is....will I get in trouble for that? I guess if there was a chance I could, I could always fly back on a different airline.
