ETA: I've merged the two ComicCon threads together. FYI, all tickets and passes to ComicCon are now sold out.

San Diego ComicCon 2009

July 23-26, 2009 (Preview night: July 22)
San Diego Convention Center

Attendees:
DonnaKat (July 22-27)
Bea

Hotel Information:
DonnaKat - Holiday Inn, 13 blocks from Convention Center (shuttle service)

Misc
DonnaKat - I'm looking for roomies. If interested, PM me.

Note: I will be updating information as it is available (i.e. guests, hotels, itinerary, etc.). If you want to be added to this list, please let me know.

******************************************************

I'm making it a point to go next year, since I've tried for about three years in a row and haven't had any luck. I've already bought my registration and everything this time.

No guests have been announced yet, but this will be their 40th anniversary, so I'm sure we won't be disappointed. I'll bet you they have BIG plans for this next con.

I bought my registration already, too. Now all I have to do is save up some money and I'm good to go.

San Diego, here I come! sunny

I've got the date down, and I'm working on whether I'll be able to make it. Fortieth anniversary, huh? Yeah, it should be good.

I'm thinking that with the release of Game being pushed to September 4, they might make it a point to promote it at ComicCon. Just a hunch....

Do they take American Express for pre registration payment?

Who all got a four day pass?

PostSubject: Re: ComicCon 2009: Planning and Logistics   ComicCon 2009: Planning and Logistics Icon_minitimeSat Jan 24, 2009 3:57 pm

Okay, here's the deal with me. I AM planning on going to ComicCon in July - Gerry or no Gerry. However, I want to stay longer than just for the convention. There's also "The Ugly Truth" opening being pushed to July 24, so I'm thinking maybe if we have an idea when the premiere might be, I could also go to L.A. while I'm there.

So here are some ideas I'm pondering in my mind:

I can fly cheaper into Long Beach than I can into San Diego - a LOT cheaper. With that money saved, I could rent a car and drive. It's only about 115 miles from Long Beach to San Diego. My thought is to go to LA for the premiere, then drive to the convention. While I'm there, I can also see the beach for the first time (well, I did see the ocean but that was in Long Island, so this is different...LOL).

Would anyone be interested in something like that?

If the premiere is before CC, then I'll probably drive down.

I'm there if you are, unless I get caught up in something else. I think my parents are *hopefully* moving by the first of July.

Great!

I would imagine the premiere would come before CC. At any rate, it's a shot in the dark with that and I'm not going to wait for a confirmation first. If the premiere is not at the same time I'm there, so be it. I'll probably still fly in early before CC, if for nothing else but to sightsee CA and catch some waves and rays. My main purpose for going is for ComicCon anyway, and to meet up with my friends...anything further than that will be extra. I'm sure I'll find something to do. Wink

This is almost like deja vu for me.

I remember what a busy weekend it was for G the week before the premiere of 300. Doing the Leno show on Friday, then flying out to S.F. for WonderCon on Saturday....which I was fortunate to attend.

I would imagine it's going to be much the same on THAT particular weekend.

I've added you to the list. As far as info goes, I posted the link in the first post. That should give you the details. Smile

They haven't posted a lot of info yet, but you can buy passes.

I just hope I find a job soon so I can still go to this thing. Shocked
