We need all that water over here. They're forecasting thunderstorms for us Thu, Fri, Sat. I hope they're right. We've had wild fires this year in the area. This drought has got to go!

I'm really glad that I live on a hill.

It's getting a little better here. I no longer have to circle around flooded out streets to get to work, but then I don't live on one of the many bodies of water in this area. A friend said that she had gone from having a "lake view" house to a "lake side" house to being able to fish off her back deck (not that she would catch anything but trash) in the last few weeks. The water is now dropping a foot a day.

Julie, I wish we could send you some, but then, we've been trying to send you snow for years.

I love Patricia Heaton's (from "Everybody Loves Raymond") show on TV called "The Middle." Tonight, she and her character's husband were complaining about their teenage son's behavior when he wouldn't do the right thing regarding something (of course he did the right thing by the end of the show). She asked her husband how, if they were good people, they managed to have an oldest child who didn't want to do the right thing.

The dad joked saying that the first pancake from the batter never turns out right.

I was laughing hysterically at that before I remembered that, in my family, I'm the first pancake myself....... geek

Actually, after that, I just laughed even harder.

Nah, no sailors that I know of. Many are quite afraid of boats and rivers, lakes, seas, oceans. We did farm sea salt, but that's strictly on land.

I was thinking the splash was from losing muscle control at death, which didn't make much sense for the specific joke.

There may be puppy-sitting relatives and friends available. Deliberations going on at the moment. Their standards of care must be high to be considered for this enviable position. Laughing

I have no idea of itinerary yet but there's no doubt that Africa will be a life-changing experience.

Well, you know how fine liquor gets better with age and a cherished bottle isn't touched until it's perfect. Maybe God is saving you and yours for a special occasion. May that occasion be a long way off.

Random: The FDA showed up at my work today for an inspection. We knew they were due but it was not planned or scheduled. I worked long hours today and will be working long hours until he gets finished with the inspection. I'm tired and my brain is fried.
