Does anyone remember the Saturday Night Live sketch with Rachel Dratch (back when she was still on the show) called "Debbie Downer"?
Nay, congratulations on your upcoming trip! Really sounds like a life changing experience for sure.
Donna, you were still at work at nearly 8:00 at night? Ugh, sorry. I know what you mean about being fried at the end of the day. And that's just a normal work day!

Not quite 8pm, but it was about 6:30 before I got home last night, and again tonight. The inspection is supposed to last through Friday of NEXT week, which means I'll pretty much be living at work the next week or so. Early mornings, late nights and working lunches. I can't leave while they're there and I always have to stay after. Basically, it sucks.

I'm missing one of my bucket list things this week. Money always gets in the way.
But....since the world is ending at 6pm tomorrow anyway, I suppose it doesn't matter.

You've been to 3D rides. It's a lot like the rides. The main difference is your seat doesn't move. There shouldn't be wind or water effects. If you feel wind or water, it's from your neighbors in the theater.

It was supposed to start in New Zealand at 6pm NZ time, then each timezone will start at it's 6pm local time.
It's almost 11pm my time. I guess I'm not part of that rapture.

Hugs to everyone who needs it and to those who don't too!
This last Pirates wasn't as good as the other three in my opinion. The mermaid effects were neat (especially in 3D) but the movie seemed to be lacking the "spark" it once had. I wasn't overly impressed with the chemistry between Captain Sparrow and Penelope Cruz's character, and I think the movie suffered by not haviing Bloom and Knieghtly on it.
It was entertaining, but a bit disappointing given how much I love POTC.

Seriously this guy just needs to listen to advisers sometimes. It's not always about him. When a national anthem plays, you shut up especially when you're standing next to the subject of said anthem. Unfortunately, even camel-faced Camilla showed a touch more class.

It was an embarrassing incident, but I don't get the impression it was done to be deliberately disrespectful. Obviously, you would never deliberately speak during another country's national anthem out of respect, but he had already started toasting. The orchestra started playing the anthem during his toast. He was cutoff midsentence. Yes, what he should have done was pause and wait for the anthem to finish and then resume after, but he seemed to have been faced with an awkward, unexpected moment and made the call to keep going. In hindsight, I'm sure he regretted that. I think this was just a mistake all around. The orchestra cutting in during the toast because they thought he was done, and then the Pres. making an on the spot decision that it would be less awkward to keep going rather than stop mid-sentence. Obviously, his judgement call was wrong, and I'm sure he'd have done it differently if he'd had time to think about it. I don't want to presume to know what he or anyone else was thinking, but from what I've seen and read, this was just an embarrassing mistake, and not a deliberate action to be disrespectful of his host country's national anthem.
I don't think he thought this was all about him. On the countrary, he was paying tribute to the Queen and the wonderful alliance the U.S. shares with England.
Interestingly, Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg was quoted in the article I read as saying, "I thought you did exactly the right thing." Now I wouldn't go that far. I think the Pres. did make an embarrassing error in judgement. I just think it was fluke incidient and not a deliberately disrespectful act. At least from what I have seen and read regarding it. That may or may not be the full story.
