| Wow, after that much work, my knees wouldn't be knobby, they would be jelly. OK, who am I trying to kid. My body couldn't move at all. They would have to take me to a home for the old, rusty and broken. It's nice to see that you took time out for a spa treatment. UM---That pic was taken in the middle of a mud bath, wasn't it? | |

| Sharabella, on the to-do list for next week is a deep muscle massage and a pedicure.
Random:
Today is a social day for me. If I can grab a nap somewhere, I'll be happy.

| Nay--very impressive! Maybe I should give up dancing since it looks like I would get more exercise gardening. I may ask you for some tips when spring comes here.
And the BF does treat me well thanks for taking up for me! The best part is there is not a lot of drama. It's a very peaceful and easy relationship that has moved along at a slow but steady pace. Oh, he's very easy on the eyes. Look up a country singer named Dierks Bentley and imagine him with blonder hair and a couple of inches taller.
Donna, will have to google your wine. I just got off work after a six day stretch and I wish I had something!
I hope everyone is doing great!

| Random: Hey Nay, I just saw that Quantas has entered a deal with DFW (Dallas/Ft. Worth International Airport). They are moving here and now we will have the 3rd longest non-stop flght flown -- Sydney/Dallas. They are abandoning the Sydney/San Fransico route and switching to Dallas in order to boost their US Market Share. So, when are you visiting? Found an Australian article here: http://www.businessreviewaustralia.com/tags/qantas/qantas-launching-dallas-fort-worth-route-boost-us-market-share Here's an article from the Dallas Morning News: http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/bus/stories/011410dnbusqantas.22c69c.html Interesting snippet: - Quote :
- Texas did about $1.6 billion in trade with Australia in 2009, U.S. census data shows. Climate, terrain and cultural similarities suggest there could be plenty of tourism interest from both continents.

For something like that, I'd probably want a stopover or two.

| I've flown non-stop from San Francisco to Taipei, about 17 hours. Mom paid for business class (Thank you thank you thank you!) so hubby, sister and I were very comfortable. We had plenty of room to recline and pull out the foot rests. We got menus for meals, and meals came in small china dishes on serving trays, with metal utensils. We got up and wandered around the cabin some, in the wide aisles. I don't remember how many meals we had, either 3 or 4. I had good seats, good meals, and good company, so the flight wasn't painful. I can't imagine flying in coach more than 5 hours, unless I have a row of 3 or more seats to myself, and have familiar company with me. | |

| Nay--How are things in Queensland? You and your country are on my mind often. We talked a lot about it at work last week.
Random:
New BF was worried I was a HW wannabee when he learned I was on a fan site. He now sees he had nothing to worry about. Today is jeans, T-shirts and sports all day and maybe a movie between games. Menu is pizza and wings. No beer since we don't drink. For me, this will be a damn near perfect day.

| K, you tell that BF not to worry about Hollywood. A bigger problem is the attack beagle! Here is yesterday's victim ...
The latest (and maybe my last) flood update is that Queensland is fully into clean-up, salvage mode. The capital of Brisbane is progressing well and some businesses in the city centre may return to work today. All but a handful of businesses and high rise buildings have power back on. The Bruce Highway that runs from Cairns to Brisbane is open now for the first time in three weeks. Australia Post's mail service should return to normal as well.
What is incredibly heartwarming is the "Muddy Army", the volunteers who have come as far away as Canberra and New Zealand simply to help. Queenslanders, and Australians in general, are not easily defeated or demoralised.

But the biggest issue still is the loss of life in the Toowoomba area. Some media are saying it was a wall of water approximately eight metres. Survivor (and hero) stories are now coming out. One man in the Lockyer Valley (town of Grantham) saved sixteen people in his tinnie (aluminium fishing boat) but listened to the screams of others he could not save.
Some facts for anyone interested - DEATHS - A total of 18 confirmed so far.
- Woman, 43, and her 13-year-old son after being swept from the roof of a car in the Toowoomba CBD on Monday (10 Jan). - Man, 56, and his wife, 46, swept away from their Murphys Creek home after being trapped by rising water on Monday. - Woman, 31, 5-year-old girl and 12-year-old boy. They were in a Rural Fire Brigade truck which became inundated near Grantham, on Monday. Two people managed to escape but the woman and two children were trapped inside and their bodies were found in the truck. - Woman, 88, trapped at a house due to rising water on Monday. - Woman, 65, found on a creek bank in Gatton on Tuesday. - Four-year-old boy who was swept away by floodwater during a rescue attempt at Marburg, near Ipswich, on Tuesday. The boy fell out of a rescue boat. - Man, understood to have died in Monday's flooding. His body was found in a room of his home on Wednesday. - Man, 52, when his residence was swept away on Monday. Body found on Thursday. - Unidentified man found in a paddock near Grantham on Thursday. - Man, 30, found on Thursday in an upside down landcruiser in Myall Creek, Dalby. - Unidentified woman found by SES searchers at Grantham on Friday. - Man, 24. Drove to check on his Dad's property. A friend saw him walk about 50 metres into moderately flowing water but he disappeared and did not resurface. Authorities have said he was sucked down a storm water drain. His body has since been recovered. - A mature-aged woman found in a Grantham home during a third search of the property on Sunday. - A middle-aged man found in debris near the Lockyer and Gatton Creeks, between Helidon and Withcott, on Sunday. | I worked hard over the years to fight moodiness but screw today. I am just plain angry. Friday has spilled into today and nothing has been made right. Whoever stole from me has caused me all kinds of hardships. What frustrates me is that a small portion of that money was actually going to do some good in this world yet someone with evil intentions had to ruin that. I have not been this angry and upset over something that wasn't related to death in a while.
I can't fight the anger, frustration and sadness today. The BF will see a me he has never seen tonight.

| Not yet, DK, even though I was promised it would be. I stayed home today to try to do what I could to expedite the process because I can't stop crying about this but I am getting the runaround as to what actually happened and why they are not doing what they said they would do.
It bothers me that people just don't give a damn about their fellow man but it hurts more that this paltry sum of money could have such a devastating effect on me when there are others out there that wouldn't even miss this money. It just seem that its those of us who have so little that are the ones who really care.
I think the exhaustion of my harried lifestyle is playing into my meltdown, too. Part of the above--I work so hard at work and taking care of family and friends and then I can't take care of myself. Everyone is so good to me but this isn't their fault. It's some dumb butt's fault at some bank who didn't protect me.
Going to shut up now. It's been bad for all of us lately. I actually have it pretty good most days.

| Okay, I got most of it back and should have it all back by Friday. I am so glad I am not in banking! It turns out the scammer was not who I thought it was. It's a long story I will explain at another date.
I am so sorry for ranting. I am so blessed with friends (online and offline) and family and this should not have tossed me on my ass like it did.

| No sandals allowed at Wal-Mart.
When I taught (for a couple of years, LONG ago) I wore slacks and dressy tops. Most of the teachers wore dresses. No jeans, shorts, or tank tops.
