I did buy a home theater system today. It was on NewEgg and I got a really good buy on it. I put it on Bill Me Later, no payments/interest for 6 months. That's the only way I can afford things these days.
The stereo I'm using is from the 1980's....I figured it was time to upgrade.

I've been looking into purchasing a system for a while and doing research, and this thing got all five star reviews. I really wanted wireless speakers, but I'd rather have wired speakers and a quality system than some wireless junk. They knocked 100 dollars off the original price. It came with all of the speakers and the receiver.
Now if I can get something to serve as a network server so I can stream movies, etc. My brother told me Apple TV is something to look into.

Julie: Garbage pick up, yes. But there are things they won't take, you have to order that pickup special.

I hooked the surround sound up this evening. It sounds great so far. I haven't moved the speakers to actually make it "surround sound" yet and I have to buy an HDMI cable to get it hooked to my TV and XBox, but at least the stereo is up and running.
I found a TV stand cheap, too. It was a challenge getting the stand into my Crossfire, but I had a very nice guy who went out of his way to help me. He was cute too, if not a bit young.
Anywho, I prepped the back deck for staining and sprayed for weeds today. Staining shall be my daytime chore tomorrow...as soon as I get that cable. Priorities, you know.

Busy day for you, then. Mine's been busy, too, but rather overshadowed by the fact that my best friend lost her dad today.

I'm sorry to hear about your friend, Sami.
I have attached my DVR and CD player to the surround sound now. Now only the XBox remains.

Sure thing, Sami!
Julie, I think you're right. I was playing an XBox game last night when a certain part came on that was strong on woofer. The cat was lying by the speaker, got scared and ran under the sofa. I felt kinda bad. It wasn't loud at all until that part came on, and I had to scramble to find the remote to turn it down.
Given all of the work waiting for me yesterday morning when I returned from vacation, sometimes I wonder if it's worth going on vacation in the first place. I work all this week then I'm off again. I guess it's time to get up and moving.
Have a great day, y'all!

#1 - What A list movie actor managed to walk the red carpet at the Berlin Film Festival despite drinking for 36 hours straight. People got drunk from his fumes it was so bad.

This A list movie actor who probably should not be A based on his most recent track record at the box office, was at dinner two nights ago. A waitress came to his table which he was sharing with two women and another guy. After taking the drink order, the waitress said someone else would deliver it because she was going on break. Now, the person who told me this, was there, and did not see any eye contact or anything between the actor and the waitress that was out of the ordinary. However, as soon as the waitress walked away, our actor got up and followed. He came back 20 minutes later. His companions asked where he had been and he said that he took a break with the waitress and later expanded by saying the waitress serviced him orally in her car. Now, as this waitress, you must know nothing is going to come of this, so why would you do this? Would you do it with any random customer? Is it because you want to say a celebrity used you?

I think he likes it, but at the same time is a bit overwhelmed at the amount of room he suddenly has. It's as if I was suddenly thrust into a four floor condo with detached garage...
