- Ger,
I have two roommates---one at my house I have lived in for years and I am sharing a home with a lifelong friend (since elementary school) in the town where I work--two separate places. We'll call the one at my house R1 and the lifelong friend R2. I am having a hard time keeping up myself!
I left R1 for a week so that's why I made him all that food. But I am home from work for my dinner break and R2 has made me dinner! And he can cook unlike R1! Good to know what goes around comes around! So the one you felt obligated to make his food for him, will he have mowed the lawn and cleaned the gutters out by the time you get back? Ger

| Ger,
R1 cuts my lawn and my elderly neighbors lawn! He's one of the good guys! I need to check the gutters....Some say that's usually where my mind is anyway.
Random:
Getting ready for a long and busy work day. I only have one day off this week and I am jealous of those who have the four days off! But I love my job and I can't believe they pay me to do this!

| I am jealous but I think you well deserve a four day break! Enjoy it!
And thanks!
Other random:
Home for dinner break and my roommate made a yummy chicken casserole. Is it possible to have a crush on a man's cooking? I am very spoiled!

| Dinner sounds delicious, kayanne. What I failed to mention is that this is one of the busiest times of the academic year so I will spend a good two days of those four actually working. Crap!
Random:
I had a weird dream last night and no Dallas, Butler wasn't in it. I suppose it was one of those "What if" dreams. A childhood crush (old neighbour) lost his wife so I, for some reason, visited to pay my condolences. A long-dead spark arose (passionate glances) and I asked him if he would like to take a trip with me. He went into work to plan to be away and I got cold feet and fled. Now bear in mind, this guy was a dreamboat when I was much younger but has not aged well at all.
What on earth was I thinking?

| Well this isn't really about me but it's kind of a humorous story.
Yesterday we had quite a bit of rain and wind. This time of year is always stormy in MO. Anyway, when big T came home, he noticed some roofing shingles askew on the garage. So he wanted to go up on the roof and "fix" them. I advised him not to do this.
He called our son at work to see if he would be home before the next storm and help this evening, and he would not be able to. He then called my son's seventeen year old step son, Justin, but he had to work.
So, he decided he could handle it himself inspite of my protestations. So he got the BIG ladder. I suggested that the ladder was too dangerous and why not use the tractor with the bucket. He didn't want it "tearing up the yard". So, he positioned the extension ladder, raised it to the proper elevation and I was instructed to just stabilize the bottom of it and all would be fine.
Well, as soon as he made it on to the roof, which is severly pitched by the way, he freaked out. He did get the shingles back in place but couldn't get himself back over to the ladder. It was about a twelve foot drop from the gutters down and that would be after the roll off the roof! My accidental death and dismemberment policy stipulations flashed through my head.
He's panicking now and I don't know what to do other than, what I normally do in these instances, laugh. I know that's terrible but I told him not to do it. So inbetween his cursing himself for being so stupid, he would tell me to "f*ck" myself.
Just then, I see Justin coming up the driveway towards my son's house bringing his little sister home. I jump in the car and drive over and tell him he needs to get the tractor with the bucket on it STAT! He informs me the hay spike is on the thing so we know that won't do. By now, T's yelling from the roof top across the pasture to hurry up and save him, he's slipping faster!
Justin snaps in to action, removing the hay spike and replacing it with the bucket and goes flying across our field. I never knew a tractor could move that fast! PANIC ON THE FARM, FOLKS!
He then positions the bucket gently up on the roof, and Mr. Fixit slides himself in to it, all the while, Justin and I are laughing so hard we can barely see straight!
It was quite a site, seeing the huge bucket on the front of the tractor slowly lower him down to safety like a cherry picker on a utility truck!
Some men are good for fixing things, mowing, etc., around the place, and then there are some who are only good for comedy relief!

| If my career falls to pieces, good to know some places want "smart girls." I wonder if I would be paid more since I have a college degree...

| Andrea--I don't think it's going to fail. It was a joke because in the video, the strip club is looking for strippers with an education. I just found it funny! My college degree has nothing to do with the career path I choose and I often joke that I wasted five years (yeah it took me five plus summers because I liked to have a good time) getting my degree. | |

| You know you're all going to be shocked at what I'm about to say, maybe some not so much, but I don't see anything wrong with stripping/dancing in a club really. It's funny when you think of it in the proper perspective and with the reality of it all.
Men that generally go to those places are desparate and don't have much luck with females in the real world. It's kind of akin to someone not being able to afford a steak dinner but they go look at it and "imagine" what it would taste like! How dumb and pathetic is that? My metaphor is not intended here, to compare women to a piece of meat. Let's get that straight. Guys do it too.
The women can't be touched and they make pretty good money. But the profession gets a bad rap. But why not? Just don't depend on it for a life's career.

It's amazing how many friendships have been started because of Mr. B.

And I agree! Mr. B has definitely brings people together who otherwise would not meet. I am very grateful for that.

| I have a new found liking for sushi. Only the cooked kind so far, though.
It's nummy.
Seems to be pretty healthy to eat, too.

| PJ, I'm so glad you came back. I was worried. Can you tell us a little about her?
DK, sushi is one of my favourite meals. In fact, I aim to have some for lunch today and have actually hooked several members of my family on to it also. Mistakenly called 'raw fish' by people who don't know better, sushi is low fat with high protein and minerals in the fillings and nori.

| I used to think that, too. The sushi I got was a party tray from Trader Joe's, and it says "fully cooked". | |

| Love sushi!
Random: Tough week and tomorrow is my only day off. I was going to veg with Roomie 1 and then go to see BH at the cheap theater tomorrow. Forgot that several weeks ago I promised a friend I would go on a day trip with him out of state tomorrow. Things were different then and it's not his fault I forgot and things have changed so I am not going to try to get out of it.
So tomorrow I am headed to yet another state to hang out with yet another friend. I am hoping to make it back to my house in time to still go out to go see the late showing of BH with Roomie 1.
