The completed fence will take another two weeks but here are some before shots complete with damn ugly gardens. The only plant remaining in my yet-to-be-formed garden will be the pandanus palm.

DK, this are the before photos, not the mid-job photos.

Possible finished product - 6ft timber picket fence, small hedge behind it, arbour over gate, frangipani tree to plant in one corner, pandanus palm in other, metal table and chairs, sandstone stepping stones.

The plan sounds lovely. I like the arbor over the gate.

I need a new bathroom mirror, or mirrors. The one I had fell and shattered and scared us almost 2 years ago. It was like a 4' x 3' sheet of glass mirror glued to the wall. Very loud and long shattering. No one was in there at the time, fortunately, and the door was shut. I had some bad thoughts about what if my daughter had been in there when it fell.

Mirrors are expensive!

Here's a pandanus palm, LJ. It's a healthy plant which is the only reason I am keeping it. My general plan is to have a little French/English courtyard using many of the annuals found in Monet's Garden in northern France. Fingers crossed that it comes off.

The pandanus isn't really insync with that at all. Neither is the frangipani but it was a housewarming gift and I've always wanted one.

No PJ, I'm about a twenty minute drive to the beach but those palm trees abound in this area. I was actually told last night that the pandanus palm is a pest so I may in fact get rid of it. Then I can design my English/French style courtyard. bounce

Front courtyard/garden has now been levelled, PJ. It has become a blank palette on which I can paint!

My pup has not, to date, met anyone he doesn't like - human or animal. He and his best mate Dex (a 4mth old kelpie) are a comical treat when playing together. They wrestle, they run, they chase, they pant, they spoon, they rest and then they do it all over again. Laughing
