| PJ, I'll have you know I learnt a great deal. He speaks like an excited little school boy at times though.
Completely with you, Sami and Julie. Basil shatters the stereotype! Mind you, if I were he, I would kick my parents sideways until next Sunday for granting me the name 'Basil'.
Now I go to discipline my pup who ONCE again has opened the door to find mischief where he shouldn't!

| Basil is a saint with an order of priests named for him. Some of the funniest priests I've met are Basilians.
I've known a few handsome and buff men in grad school in the math & science department. Some were students and some were professors.

| I just saw a Viagra commercial and one of the side effects is abnormal vision, which I've heard is making everything look blue, the background color of this forum. I then remembered Nay calling GB a walking _ _ _ _ - on, and the combination made me think "Gerard Butler would make a good Viagra spokesman". | |

| Rightio, it's decided. Someone now just needs to inform GB that Viagra needs his endorsement, not a cologne for crimey's sake. | |

| Nay, I just heard that Australia is one of many countries who are under a Tsunami warning, after the Chilean earthquake. Stay safe.
And anyone on this site that's close to the Pacific Ocean, stay safe, as well.

| Just awoke to hear this news, PJ. Poor poor Chile.
Parts of Australia's east coast has been put on resulting tsunami alert but that translates to dangerous waves, strong currents and foreshore flooding. Generally, people are asked to stay out of the water and away from the beaches and that includes no fishing or boating. Queensland's south east corner may be affected but it shouldn't reach as far north as us.
I'll keep you up to date.

| Latest news says tsunami could travel as far north as Gladstone so my coastal area is still in danger. We won't know until it gets here in a little under an hour.
I almost want to drive to a high point on the coast to see what happens.

| I've been watching it too, especially with friends and family in Hawaii. I've heard that it's safer to be in the water than near shore because the amount of energy from the water moving gets compressed as it gets to land. People are staying out in the water in boats, where they may not even notice the tsunami.
Deep water scares me anyways.

| What worries me a little is the combination of a wave surge with high tide this morning. I need to check that out.
It's also started to rain lightly.
PS. Checked it. High tide was half an hour ago. This might get interesting.

| Nay, stay away from the coast.
There's nothing new about quakes and tsunamis and volcanos. What's new is instant global communication. We hear about them more and in time to panic along with the people affected.
Nowadays you can pick your nose and the whole world knows it.
I'll bet all the geography teachers are happy.

| Random:
I was on TV/Radio blackout all day today. I had nothing on in my house today and was busy working on various things. I didn't even know about all the activities until about an hour ago. I turned on the news and was shocked. It was very surreal. Usually I am surrounded by information overload and I was totally out of the loop. Hadn't even glanced at my blackberry.
