I'm back in Glasgow now and ready for my long journey home. I was a touch teary this morning as I drove out of the Highlands.
The story of my trip may take quite a few 'conversations' and will most definitely include eye-pleasing, visual displays, PJ. Heh heh!
I can identify with the "teary" feeling. Safe trip home, Nay.
Can't wait for the stories AND the visual displays!

PJ, there will be much ooohing and aahhing from these photos believe me.
This morning, my last day in Scotland, I went to see 'Inspired', a exhibition of Scottish identities/artists responses to the life and works of Robert Burns. Provocative, perverse and passionate are words that came readily to mind. Well known artists such as Peter Howson, Sacha Hawley, Tracey Emin (she drew a penis) all contributed their ideas to celebrate the Year of Homecoming and the 250th anniversary of his birth.
What however REALLY grabbed my attention is that the Mitchell Library, where the exhibit is contained, also holds many many many original works and memorabilia of the very poetic and flawed man - Robert Burns.
DK, as to your no-so subtle question - this was eye candy from a distance. He was quite busy fondling and playing his bagpipe and is supposedly quite popular with the ladies.

I'm watching Monty Python and the Holy Grail. I shall be thinking of Nay as I watch it (in a totally platonic way, of course).

Fondling your bagpipe will get you thrown in the pokey here....
Totally random:
Did I ever tell y'all how much I loved "Nessun Dorma" sung by Pavarotti? No? Well, I do. And I'm sure after watching this, you will too.
You're Welcome.

I actually got it sent to me in an email. But it appears to be making the rounds. I saw it on IMDB too.

I have been so busy today that I have not read the news or watched tv. I was just winding down and reading some personal emails and scanning the headlines before calling it a night and just read that John Hughes died.
I feel like I was just kicked in the stomach. His movies were the movies of my childhood and to this day my friends and I still quote lines from his movie. My sister recently was stunned and shocked that my neice had never seen "Pretty In Pink", "Sixteen Candles" or "The Breakfast Club" and ran out and bought them for her and told her to watch them immediately!!! My personal movie collection is filled with John Hughes films. They just don't make them like that anymore.
I am now officially depressed.
RIP, Mr. Hughes.

I am home! I am home! Let the fun and games begin! But first, let me sleep in my OWN bed.
Yes, I had heard that news about John Hughes, Tex. He wasn't even an old man. Sixteen Candles remains one of my all-time favourites and I had just watched Ferris Bueller again over the Christmas holidays.
Innocent films with believable characters. Kudos Mr Hughes.

2 of the best things about Ferris Bueller's Day Off::
1) The scene in class - Economics Teacher: Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?
Simone: Um, he's sick. My best friend's sister's boyfriend's brother's girlfriend heard from this guy who knows this kid who's going with the girl who saw Ferris pass out at 31 Flavors last night. I guess it's pretty serious.
2) How the song "Danke Schoen" is a subtle theme througout the movie. Many different characters either sing the words to or hum the song. Ferris sings the words in the shower, Mr. Rooney hums it while he is waiting in front of the Bueller's house's door, and Jeanie sings it while she is running down the stairs after she kisses Charlie Sheen. I think it is even played as background music when they go to the fancy restaurant, but I could be wrong on that one. Of course the piece de resistance is when Ferris sings it in the middle on the parade (that and Twist and Shout).

The best part of Ferris Bueller for me was when the Principal's secretary was breaking up the kids at the school into sportos, motorheads, geeks, sluts, pinheads, dweebies, wonkers, richies. They think he's a righteous dude.
Priceless. His sister also had brilliant lines: "Go piss up a flagpole! I'd like to add I have my father's gun and a scorching case of herpes."
How have you been, Dallas? Are you staying away from trouble? If you've been good, I have some 'special' photos for you. Don't say I don't love you!

My head is fine, except for the small knot on it that hurts every time I furrow my brow.
Thanks for asking.

It is a blog post by a woman who had a friendship with John Hughes that spanned 20 years and started after she watched The Breakfast Club as a teenager. She loved the movie so much she sent John a fan letter. He wrote back.
Seriously touching.........

What I miss DK? Did you break your noggin'?
I miss everything...... I've been skimming and am sleep deprived lately.
BTW, I have a purple toe from running into something -- but I don't know how it happened. I just started taking a prescription for sleep and woke up with a cracked toe??!! WTF? I hope I didn't run around the neighborhood naked or something in my drug induced state..... Must be a week for broken toes and noggins.

Good grief, you're all falling to pieces - toes and heads. Let me get an icepack and a bandaid.
But I have questions with my medicines - Donna, how does one walk into a wall when we have eyes in the front of our heads for just such occasions? Dallas, were you kicking someone's nether regions by any chance when said little appendage was injured?
PJ, are you hale and hearty? How's Mr PJ?

I'm not liking the "stinging" part, DK. Is it like a numbness? Is it a headachey feeling or actual pain? I'd say keep an eye on it, but don't let it go too long.
And, Nay, Mr. PJ and I are fine, thanks for asking. I hope you'll have time to catch up on your sleep, now that you're home.
