Congrats again, Poppy and sons.
I am completely and unreservedly forgiving GB for his crass comment about doing Halle Berry at last years's Comic Con.
Look at what she and Jamie Foxx got up to on stage at some awards show. I don't find it especially humorous, cute or hot (especially if her partner was watching).

People schmooch on stage at award shows??
Anyone who does that in public has no right to ever complain about paparazzi.

Dissing THIS hottie to do Jaime? No thanks.
If I had this baby as my man, I would be quite content, thank you.

THAT'S Halle's man?? He looks like Josh Holloway.
You're right, Julie...it was tacky in the extreme. The woman has a s/o and a child.

Random: two weeks ago, today, my son and I headed for the UK. What a dream trip it was. We went to London for four days, Southampton for three days and Scotland for six days. I was finally able to see the places my Grandfather used to talk to me about. He was born and raised in London and his Grandfather was born and raised in Glasgow. I know they had adventures, growing up. My son and I had adventures on the trip, as well...some moving and some embarassing, but adventures just the same. Wahey!

Alrighty then ... flexing fingers ...
What was your impression of Glasgow, PJ? I enjoyed it so much more than Edinburgh. Do you still have family in Glasgow? How was the weather? Gulp Sip any good whisky?
Adventures? What advemtures? Tell us more about these adventures.
Come on, I'm dying to know! I'll be there in a little over a month and I want to know everything.

My impression of Glasgow...can't get over how compact it is. Makes it easier to get around. Of course I took pictures of the Rabbie Burns statue in Georges Square. The birds like it too, if you know what I mean. I loved the Glaswegians. They are a friendly lot. Good thing I brushed up on the accent (Mrs. Brown), before going, their accent is very thick and endearing at the same time. And they are very willing to answer questions and not seemed bothered by them. Of course, I asked just about every taxi driver(as my son cringed) if they knew who GB was and most of them teased and said they never heard of him. There was one fella who gave me a time of it and I think he truly knew him or, at least, of him. But when we visitied the Strathclyde Fire Brigade(had to visit-there's firemen in our family) near Paisley, they are very proud to have GB as their "native son". Anyway, I wish we had had a chance to visit a pub that had true folk music (bagpipes, fiddle, etc.), but there wasn't time or we were too exhausted by the end of the day. I would truly recommend that you try to take that in. There are quite a few in Glasgow.
The weather was typical for Scotland. It rained every day, but only in intervals. There was fog when we were in the Highlands, adding to their mystique. Except I will tell you that the sun came out when we were in Glen Coe. And lochs, I can't believe how many there are in Scotland! It was great to learn the meaning of terms like Strath, Inver, etc.
As far as the whisky? My first drink was MaCallan and my first toast was to you, Nay! I have to confess that I tried a few whiskies. My latest favorite is Dalmore*12. Sean and I both found out very quickly how much stronger the alcohol content is in the UK vs. the US. But that's another story.
Thank you for asking!
PS If I have any relatives left in Scotland, they would be very distant. My Great-Great Grandfather was born in 1832 and was baptized in St. Mary's, which is still standing and is now The Tron theatre in the Merchant City part of Glasgow.

If you feel inclined, you can start a thread for your trip...only if you want to, though. No pressure.

Kept wondering why the A/C was running all afternoon and the temp in the house kept holding at 82F, until I checked the weather and realized it's 91F outside with a heat index of 93F...at 6:30 in the evening!
I just brought out two floor fans to get the air circulating in the house. Maybe that will help.
