Theme of today: LOST. As in, I got lost all over the damn city! LOL!

In the process, however, I saw a lot and met quite a few people. Most were nice, one was not so nice, and one was trying to butter me up to get money off of me. One guy tried to sell us stolen Coach bags. At least he was honest in that they were stolen. When you see a guy walking around with purses in a black garbage bag, it always looks a bit suspicious.

Sightseeing is fine, but I think the best way to get to know a place is simply by walking thru it, including the places that aren't so touristy. We had a nice lunch at a cafe in Chelsea, then we went to Times Square and had a couple of drinks at TGI Fridays. I got to know the NYC subways. I figure by the time I know what I'm doing, it will be time to go home. That's usually how these things go.

I don't suspect I'm going to want to do a lot of walking tomorrow. I'm going to be in heels for DTK, and the less I'm on my feet before then the better. I'll probably take the subway down to the area and spend the day there, then get ready at my friend's hotel (she's closer). Then it's back home Tuesday afternoon. I think I'll be ready to come home by then. I'm worried about my kitty and I miss him!

Oh, and my finger's still sore and a bit swollen. I must have torn some ligaments or something.

My finger is doing better today. I still can't bend it that much, but at least I can move my hand quite a bit more without intense pain. Laughing

It looks like I'll be flying solo today. Gonna head out in a bit and maybe do some shopping and catch lunch somewhere. The pre-party starts at 5, but I have a few hours to spare and the weather is supposed to be nice.

The DTK event was a good show, but I have to admit I'm quite a bit disappointed at the amount of 'no shows' that were announced on the guest list.

The program they gave us was accurate, but the website wasn't reflective of the amount of cancellations that occured.

Still, seeing Mike Myers strut his stuff on the catwalk in a Canadian ensemble was cool...and the Geiko Caveman dude was there. I really wanted a picture with the Geiko Caveman, but he didn't go to the after party.

I met Steve Valentine and got a picture with him. He was extremely nice and cool. He's on Twitter (and yes, it's really him).

If I did that, I would be embellishing quite a bit - he wasn't there.

I'm home now, and St. Louis never looked to good. Kitties are happy to see me. I figure I'll be stalked by both of them the next few days until they settle back down.
