Hey DK !

Just want to wish you a safe, but awesome trip to NYC !!

We'll all be pullin' for ya, wishing ya an exciting - funfilled

time -- regardless of who else is there or not ...

I went for first time ever back about a week before Christmas -

and the city itself -- just took my breath away !!!

NYC is quite the charmer & is just energizing ---

"morre than a maatch forrr any sharrrrk, sweet talkin' man

whetherrr he be a Scott or not " -- hee hee (Tee's take on

a line from Dear Frankie - the bit where the Stranger
first shows Frankie -- the Accra) ---

I was just blown away by all of the charisma, diversity - yet

many similarities -- of how we are all connected ---

and I confess -- I had my Gerry radar in full watch mode --

sure I was hoping to maybe see him -- walking by or

something -- in fact we stayed in Chelsea not far

from the Flat Iron building (if ya can/have time somewhere

in Flat Iron Building (which I love the architecture of the place)

is supposed to be a collection/section where they sell

Jo Malone products -- (I got that from a sale lady/chic in

Burgdorf Goldman (I'm so not -- the B. Goldman type of chic -

me in my tourists comfortable clothes --but I didn't give

a shet -- and sales girl was very nice and gave me some

free Jo Malone sents -- and said they sell J-Malone in

the Flat Iron building -- I got strange gut feeling that

G-man puruses the Flat Iron.. it's just too cool of a building

to overlook).

I don't know if this is the normal happenings (in my gut I

think it is) but I never ran into more friendly local people --

(and I'm always a bit on the skeptical/watchful side when

I travel) -- but I never ran into so many kind helpful

and down to earth people as the natives there..

I went with my sister and another friend -- so I know that

isn't like going alone but -- You'll have a great time !!

And as far as seeing some famous faces -- No we didn't

see No Gerard Butler -- but the last day we where

there - we took subway from Chelsea up to Harlem

(in fact it was wild --- we rode the subway often -- and they
overall are well run and pretty safe - ya just gotta use

common sense/good judgement) - but anyway -

we went to Harlem close to lunch time to eat at this

famous soulfood restaurant called Sylvia's --

we were walking up to the place and all of the sudden

there was this big crowd of people standing outside the

front door of Sylvia's -- and as we got closer

we realized it was the news media -- a blonde woman
reporter from Inside Edition - and all the press people

from NY Times etc -- and we asked some by standers --

what's going on ???

and this blew my shet away -- when they said

Caroline Kennedy and Al Sharpton are fixing to meet/& eat

lunch here at Sylvia's --

and (bust my arse --if they didn't walk right past us) --

they got swallowed up by the press and went inside --

we actually were able to go in too and eat --

No -- none of us had any damn film left in cameras -- !@@#! of course --

but we got to watch them -- eating (from a distance) they were in their own private dinning room --- with all those bloody press

people -- we were eating lunch in the Non-VIP room -- LOL !!

It was the bomb !! -- I tell ya no lies!! -- it was a trip !!--

and we had no clue of this until -- we just walked up on it !!

So -- ya never Know who -- ya might see in NYC...

sorry for rambling on so much with this post -- but just

wanted to share & wish you --

a Fan-Fookin'-Tastic Trip to the Big Apple !!!

Hugs Woman -- ya look great girlfriend -

so go up there and strut yo respective Stuff !!!

Tee

I'm ready to leave in a bit, but I'm not sure if I should or not.

I woke up to a sick cat. I won't go into detail, but he is now hiding underneath the sofa because he soiled himself. Sad I don't know what to do. I hate to leave him with no one to look after him, but I have to leave in about 1/2 hour.

It's too late to get anyone to look in on him on this short notice, since I'd have to leave them a key.

I'm beginning to think this trip should NOT take place.

My cat did that when I was about to leave for a trip, DK. It's his way of marking territory...and his displeasure at your leaving. Leave a clean catbox and plenty of water.

Well no, he really was messed up. I don't think he's sick, though...I'm sure his little tushie is sore! Turns out he was really, really matted back there. Poor baby!

I cut the crap (literally) off him, and then put him in the tub and washed him off. He was NOT happy, and it was no mean feat. He isn't scrubby clean, but at least hopefully he can go poo now.

I'm still kinda worried about him, but at least I don't think he's sick.

Okay, that's enough TMI for the day. Laughing

I'm in the airport waiting for them to announce boarding. I upgraded to first class, baby! I've never flown first class. I figure everyone has to try that once in their lives. It was $70 more, but you don't have to pay bag fees or for lunch. So really it isn't that much more.

I'm in the hotel and the wireless goes in and out, but I'll try to post when I can.

Flying first class....there's NO comparison. If you ever get a chance to upgrade for a reasonable amount, it's worth it! I was treated like royalty and fed very, very well. I even had complimentary wine. Smile

My hotel room is literally that...a room. As in SMALL. It's almost like a prison cell, it's so small. But I doubt I'll be in it very long anyway.

Just chilling for a bit before I venture out to see what kind of trouble I can get myself in.

Glad you got there safe !! & Good for you doing the 1st class ..

never tried that before -- glad you did -- Your worth it Chic !!

I know the place I stayed at (and I shared it with 2 other people)

was small - it was great overall -- but tight surroundings --

I think everything in NYC is very Vertical .. LOL !

not much space to cram everybody in at..

Hugs & take care -- Lady & have fun !!

So, are you happy you still went? I expect that there will be lots of "trouble" opportunities presenting themselves in the next three days. Use every single one of them!

Be classy, be strong, be smug and be proud. cheers

I went down to Times Square this evening, and we walked around quite a bit. Lots and lots of people! The only thing I regret is that I left my camera in the room and forgot to take it with me. Sad That, and somehow...some way...I might have broken my finger. But other than that it was good. Rolling Eyes

A couple of us went into a Scottish pub afterwards and had a couple pints of Tennants Lager. The bartender was wearing a kilt. Smile

Tomorrow I'll be heading out to walk. Hopefully I won't break my toe now. Rolling Eyes

Yeah, it was really beautiful. I just wish I had remembered to bring my camera. I can still go back and take pictures, but this was at night and everything was perfect. It's okay though...the ladies promised they'd share theirs with me. Smile

As for the finger...it was a freak thing. I was walking down some steps and kinda jammed my pinkie on some glass. I didn't even jam it that hard, but sharp pains went up my hand and now it's hurting like a mumma wamma. I can barely move it.

It's the same finger I messed up a few years back and had to have surgery on. I'm hoping I just aggravated the old injury and pulled some ligaments. I really don't think I hit it that hard to break a bone???

DK, you can do one of two things. You either put some ice on it and bandage it up or you can ask Gerry to do it for you........ Dressed to Kilt: March 30, 2009 (Mansion, NYC) - Page 3 6095 ........... what just happened?

I didn't see an ice machine. It's an old hotel. An old hotel without an elevator. And I'm too lazy to walk down seven flights of stairs in my pajamas to go to the bar.

Hey, this room has porn. Let me share some titles with everyone that is available for rental:

My Neighbor's Big Orgy
Lots of Filthy Sex
His First Bi Guy
Swallow

What is it with this hotel and German movies? They even have a German porn section.
