I wasn't talking about you, Nay. Rolling Eyes

BTW, is it appropriate for an Irish woman to wear red and black tartan when she isn't Scottish? Does it matter, considering the attire I have chosen isn't technically a kilt, but a wrap around mini skirt?

Should I care?

I did try to find an Irish tartan for me to wear, but they were very expensive. Either that, or I was going to have to sew it myself, and there just wasn't time. Wink

Gulp, I know ... but you did scare me there for a little while though. Shocked

Traditionally, I thought Scots women didn't wear kilts. They wore their tartan in other ways.

In modern times, unless in particular circles, I don't think it matters, DK. Just for goodness sake don't flash anyone!

So toot away!
(Um..your horn that is. Not suggesting any farting. That may make it more difficult to meet a guy at this thing.) Razz

You can borrow some of my Scottish blood, DK. (I do mean that in spirit only. I would prefer you not actually cut me open and draw blood.....) I mostly identify with my Italian-American ancestry, but I have a little Scottish in there too. As well as English, Irish, German, French, possibly Spanish, possibly Dutch, as well as three different tribes of Native American. Am I leaving anything out? Good grief! I'm a mutt! But I think that's pretty common for Americans who are Caucasian. Our ancestry tends to be a big melting pot of some of the major European countries with a little Native American heritage thrown into the mix.

I think Donna should walk around DTK in her sexy little tartan getup with the rose between her teeth like she's going to do the tango or something........but that might make talking to men a little difficult though........... Razz

Thanks Pat! I'm sure I can come up with something rosish. I could take a picture, but it's kinda hard to take a picture of oneself. Maybe someone can get pics at the event. Wink

Leo, LadyNOLA...you're so silly! With all of those models there, I doubt I'll get a second glance from anyone. Besides, he isn't on the guest list so we don't even know if he'll show. It's all speculation at this point. There's nothing indicating he will even be there.

I'm kinda excited Billy Boyd's supposed to be there though. I hope they don't put a wig on him this time. Laughing

Especially after I put that big Scottish sticker on my ass.

And give him a Butler chocolate truffle bar.

Hmmm...I might keep the chocolate for myself.

I found myself a really neat Scottish/Irish shop this afternoon. They have kilts, sporrans, food, and also Irish tartan too. I wanna go back next week when I'm not on a date.

It still isn't confirmed. HughE thought he heard it from a fan that Gerry would be there, and the fan thought she heard it from HughE.

See how stories get started?? lol!

I bought my tix with no expectation of Gerry being there. He has never been on the list and/or confirmed. I'm hoping the mini-vacation will be drama free...or at least relatively so. I'm a bit nervous about being in NYC alone, though. Shocked
