Thanks for putting the fear of a snake in my house or yard into my head, Julie!!! If I'm looking at every crevice and plant suspiciously, it's your fault. The boys are deliciously feisty, as always. Healthy too. My unsettled mood was actually more human related and it has been resolved to some degree ... until another problem raised her ugly head. Bitches don't change, do they?

Sami, would you hit me if I said I have never EVER had a cold in my life? Very Happy My sympathies, sweetie.

Random:

I wonder if Prince Charles is wishing his Mummy would do what has Queen Beatrix has for her eldest son this week. Please M'aam, don't unleash that twat on the Commonwealth.

Another cyclone on its way towards our coastline. I heard that there was a long range forecaster predicting another one this year but having it occur in Autumn is quite unusual.

No, I wouldn't hit you. Some of us just don't have the immune system others do! Neutral I have always been prone to colds, as long as I've been on this earth. I actually haven't had one in over a year......which is probably the first time in my life I have gone that long without one. Caught this one from my mother, who isn't good at keeping them to herself. LOL!

We have copperhead and coral snakes here. I'm pretty stern about keeping the door shut. We've had small geckos and skinks and birds in the house, but thank God, no snakes. I hope it stays this way.

Bitches can change. They can be spayed or bred (putting it politely) or put down. The last is pretty permanent.

I hear our looming hurricane season is going to be a whopper.

Randoms:

TGIF. Busy weekend ahead.

For years we have celebrated Labour Day on the first weekend in May (since circa 1890). Last year our 'wise and all-knowing' state government moved it to October because apparently we had too many long weekends in the first half of the year. I could use a 3 day break right now.

A two year old has died from gunshot wounds in Kentucky. Dear God.

Autumn with its chilly, darker mornings and gloriously sunny days has arrived. Apparently winter this year could be quite mild. A fishing friend told me so because crabs he's netted recently didn't have firm shells.

I don't envy anyone living with the constant threat of hurricanes, Julie. The ironic thing is those areas are often majestically picturesque.

Majestically picturesque? Not here. Don't you get cyclones all the time?

I think that 2-year-old was shot in the chest by a 4 or 5-year-old sibling with a "kiddie" gun that was loaded and resting in the corner, moments after the adult stepped out of the room.

The crabs I had a couple of weeks ago had very hard shells. Our winter wasn't hard, but weird.

We get multiple cyclones in various parts of this great country during wet/summer season, just as you get those damn scary hurricanes. The truly disturbing fact is they are more regularly appearing out of season.

Random:

The new neighbours have some sort of horse-sized, mongrel beast visiting which is sending my boys into a frenzy.

I bring them inside to calm them down and the nimrods keep the demon dog out to enjoy the glorious Autumn day. Rolling Eyes

Hadn't thought of that, Julie. Jordy has been desexed though. Do they still 'feel' the urge after the snip?

Watching 'Quartet' with Maggie Smith, Billy Connolly and Michael Gambon at the moment. The British know how to write a full character. It's Dustin Hoffman's directorial debut. Caught the first half of 'The King's Speech' last night also. Timeless class.

I don't know if neutered animals feel the urge, but I'm sure they can still smell something different. They may also want to make a new friend.

I don't watch many British films. I do love Maggie Smith. She shows up in movies I like, like the Harry Potters, Sister Acts, and First Wives Club. Oooo, she was in the 1981 Clash of the Titans.

Dame Maggie has a long and wonderful screen and stage career. I enjoy all work by her and Dame Judi Dench. They choose wisely and with real diversity. Audiences from the young to the older can appreciate their talent.

BTW Julie, I saw the demon dog for the first time this morning and it IS a freaking horse! Bull Mastiff! It's gone now so must only be a visiting nuisance. Oh lucky me. Rolling Eyes

Random:

Woke up early this morning; can't seem to sleep in later on weekends. Decided to enjoy the fresh temps and did a couple of hours of gardening following by a couple hours of ironing (whilst watching "The Hobbit"). Now that the usual jobs are out of the way, it's time for a Sunday siesta. Walk with the boys later then dinner out with friends tonight. If you hadn't already guessed, I'm happiest when productive ... being lazy takes real mental willpower. Laughing

Ha----glad to know I have real mental willpower Wink

Sorry I haven't been around for a while. I've been feeling strange vibes myself lately. Maybe it's spring fever?

The shooting in Kentucky happened at the other end of the state, but it could have easily happened around here. One of my gun-totting coworkers was insistent that it couldn't happen to her children because the kids guns were always locked up----and they were taught to never, ever point them at anyone. Children always do what they're told---right?

Random-

I have my passport, now I just wonder if Carnival will still be in business in October. The ship I'm booked with hasn't had a problem------so far.

Adults aways do the right thing---right?

What idiot left the gun loaded? It's that idiot's fault.

If kids live around guns, they need training about safe gun handling. Same with knives, stoves, ovens, matches, lighters, heaters, water, fridges, freezers, cars, dogs, cats, pets, scissors, pens, pencils, forks, screwdrivers, rocks, etc. All things can be deadly if mishandled.

Shar, good luck with the cruise. What port are you sailing out of?

Bull mastiff? That's not dog, that's a wall!

Hey Shar! A cruise? Where? How long? I've never been on a cruise but I have friends who absolutely love them. I do hope your strange vibes have disappeared. It's certainly good to see you back on deck.

Julie, I know! You understand the horse analogy now. Bizarrely, I think I frightened it when she/he/it saw me through a crack in the fence ... Say something random about you (Part 5) - Page 15 646968

Some huge ugly things are big sissies.

Right now my favorite flavor (no u's) is strawberry. I'm enjoying my diet Big Red, imported French strawberry drop candies, occasional strawberry ice cream, and occasional strawberries.

Favorite food in general is Popeye's spicy fried chicken. Very yummy! Especially with Thai chicken sauce, with a big Bubba mug of diet Big Red.

Hi Julie. How are you? Fried chicken is a newly discovered yummy treat for me. I was never into it because I thought it was too greasy and fattening but my fabulous butcher does little nibblie pieces with mixed spices. Droooooool. Strawberries have never been a fruit I could enjoy ... except in a jam.

CHEESE! Sami, cheese is a real weakness. Whenever possible and most soft and/or blue ranges. We have some tremendous brands over here. When you visit, I'll put out a wide selection for your dining/drinking pleasure.

But when it comes to frequent flavours, I lean more towards the salty and sour end. Lemon, lime.

That all said, my favourite 'meal' involves pasta (I include pizza in there too). For me, it comprises 3-4 meals a week. Sushi is also a regular choice.

Earth used to have just one continent named Pangaea. The pieces have drifted apart over the years. If we wait long enough, we'll have one continent again and we can walk to and from each other's homes, no planes needed to cross the great ocean expanses.

No, I'm not smoking anything, but no telling what plants are pollutenating my air.

Not sure we could wait that long, Julie. If you ain't smoking something, are you feeling feverish, hot flushes, electric surges?? Do you need a long lie down in a dark cool room? Laughing Go buy a lotto ticket so you can come to Australia too!

Random:

Sitting on the couch holding my pooch's paw is quite a sweet feeling.

My boss did a kind thing for me today.

New front steps happening this weekend. A friend cut some beautiful hard wood that I bought at a timber auction; then I have sanded and stained (light oak) them with several coats. They look gorgeous.

Just bought my lotto ticket. Got my fingers and toes crossed (who am I fooling--there's no way I could cross my fat little toes)

Julie is just taking the loooooooooooooooong view-----or she's been picking the wrong kind of mushroom.

Nay, I wish you could bottle some of your energy--I need a case or three.

My favorite food is whatever I'm not allowed to have. Ok,my favorite food is someone-else's-cooking.

OK, my cruise.

It's in October. There are several women going, so it's a group thing (always more fun) We leave out of New Orleans for a seven day cruise to Grand Cayman (where I hope to snorkel) Cozumel, Mexico (where I shall visit a museum and attend a tequila tasting) and Montego Bay, Jamaica (where I plan to see the very haunted Rose Hall) Along with usual sit-on-deck-and -be-served delights.

I hope it's as fun as it sounds. Anyone want to come along?

Shara, I hope you and your companions have a wonderful time!

The only 3 things I like on your list are the group of women, the museum, and being served delights. I'm not a fan of not-cold temperatures, fish poop water, salt water, salty air, breathing out of a tube, non-prescription goggles, anything haunted, or alcohol. I will pass on this trip.

If I should ever plan to visit something haunted, I would carry a variety of crosses, crucifixes, rosaries, icons of Jesus and Mary and saints, and bottles of Holy Water for exorcism purposes.

Shar, your cruise sounds just the holiday I need. Cocktails, female chatter, museums, shopping, soaking up gentle sunlight. Someone else doing the cooking will certainly be a bonus. Rose Hall sounds intriguing. What's it's story?

Julie, how are you? What's news in JulieWorld?
