| I'm sorry Shar. I didn't realise that having the crud meant sick. Kick it in the butt!
Random:
The first of the Christmas parties start tomorrow night.

| I hope you feel better, Shara!
Random: I have no working furnace. I hope it doesn't get too cold this weekend, because there's only so much heating a small space heater can do.

| Random:
Today - Bud barked.
Yes, I know dogs do that. But he doesn't ... not very often at all.
His bark made me look outside to see an elderly man weaving across the road haphazardously on a walking frame. I rang a neighbour whose house he was just then passing and she had noticed him too. So, donning an important piece of clothing (bra), I raced out to see if he was lost. Two cyclists stopped and between the three of us we got his name, address and returned him home. Luckily his sister (also elderly & frail) was there and told us he was a cunning runaway.
I expect it will happen again.

| You ran outside wearing nothing but a bra? No wonder he was weaving haphazardously. What's a walking frame? Random: I have a working furnace now. Let there be rejoicing! | |

| I assume Nay's walking frame is a 4-legged walker, typically seen with tennis ball feet.
Yay for DK's furnace! | |

| Random:
Well, the latest on this morning's adventure ... it was his wife, not his sister. Both appear to be in their late 80's. The wandering has happened before and it will happen again. Here t'is a walking frame.
It's so sad to see a person's twilight years like this.

| That's a fancy walker with seat. I haven't seen many of those. Most people around here can't afford something that expensive.
I don't ever want to be old and feeble. Well, I don't ever want to be feeble. Haven't decided exactly what to do yet.
Random: Saw eye doctor today. My eyes are dilated. I hope I'm typing correctly because everything is blurry.

| I worked late, it took me forever to get home and I had to make a stop at the grocery store on the way. I'm now home and I have to make something for the Thanksgiving luncheon tomorrow. And tomorrow when I get home I have to bake fudge to take to my family's house for Thanksgiving.
I don't want to cook or bake. Can I just buy everyone a can of something or a package of Hershey bars?

| no bakeries around?
That walking chair? We have them everywhere, in fact, someone gave one of those to my father. There is an abundance around here.

| Trying to imagine baked fudge.
DK, go somewhere, buy a bunt-type cake, put it on your own cake plate (very important), top it with canned frosting. No one will notice the difference.

Good point. I probably shouldn't bake it. PJ, I hope everything is okay with you and you get better soon! Random: This Malbec tastes good.

| I just got home from visiting family out of town. I feel like I gained 75 pounds in three days.
Random: I bought a Wii for $100. Don't know whether I want to set it up or put up the Christmas tree tonight.

| Entirely random weekend activities:
Watched "Of God and Men" - compelling story of 7 peaceful Trappist monks beheaded in Algeria in late 1990s.
Weeded and mulched both front and back gardens.
Bought multiple petunias and seaside daisy seedlings for 50c each.
Mowed with face mask on as anti-dust protection. It worked a treat.
Drank a six pack of James Squire beer with neighbours in late afternoon breeze.
Bought a couple of Christmas presents for work friends.
Woke early both mornings for no discernible reason. Slept both afternoons for approximately two hours.
Took my pooch to the beach for what is becoming our late Sunday swim/walk with his mate, Dexter. This time I also took red wine for the adults and the dogs ran off leash. Great fun for Bud.
