| Well, he fixed my car a couple of weeks ago so I try not to complain too much. But it's my turn to be spoiled now. Whatever stomach bug he had he passed on to me! | |

Cuteness wears off when he's not helpless anymore, but I am quite happy that he's feeling better.

WTF happened between the Swiss and US governments that Polanski is free???
I'm confused. Isn't paedophilia against the law?

| Polanski had a damn good legal team, that's for sure. And there is an uncooperative victim. This will be a question for the roomie, though.

| This is mainly for Nay (and others familiar with Australian law) but is about me. While doing some research I came across "anti-hoon" laws. Then I read a fascinating story of an 81-year-old woman who was accused of being a "hoon" for racing her much younger lover. It was an interesting read! | |

| I found the article you might be speaking of, K. OCTOGENARIAN speed demon Judith Slade is back behind the wheel after her car was confiscated under anti-hoon laws.
The Heathcote woman, clocked by police driving at 164km/h last week, redeemed her car from a police pound yesterday morning. And she later vowed to fight to stay on the road, despite her age. She broke down in tears at being branded a hoon and declared her age should be no barrier to holding a licence.
The feisty 81-year-old, who gives her occupation as sheep shearer, was intercepted after speeding past the car of her younger secret lover near Lake Boga after a weekend tryst at a Mildura hotel.
But she says police won't find her doing anything wrong as she awaits charges. Police have written to VicRoads asking for her licence to be reviewed.
The colourful octogenarian was convinced police would be waiting on her to make a mistake on the road. "They're going to be hell-bent on taking my licence off me for good," she said yesterday. "I have spent my life driving without an accident or insurance claim. I expect it (my licence) to be suspended for some time."
Mrs Slade, a widow, was reluctant to drive her car through her home town yesterday - but wanted to show the Herald Sun she was a competent driver.
Her beloved dog, Aca, came along for the ride, despite being blamed for jumping on her leg, causing her to drive at dangerous speeds a week earlier.
Although she accepts her licence will be suspended, she reckons her speed was less than police clocked her at.
And she said her "friend" had ended their romance after the publicity surrounding the police pursuit and speeding infringement.
"I don't want to go out like this," she said. "I'll admit I was speeding a few kilometres an hour over, but no big deal. My friend, I haven't heard from in a couple of days, and that's very sad."
In a brief display of her driving skills, Mrs Slade did not miss a beat, indicating, giving way and sticking to the limit. She is expected to be charged with driving at a dangerous speed and failing to obey her licence conditions.http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/hoon-gran-judith-slade-hot-to-trot/story-e6frf7jo-1225890915199

| That is it! I was googling "reckless driving" for a piece I was working on and found that article. I am also fascinated with the Herman Rockefeller case and Elmer Crawford cases. Both very sad stories but interesting. | |

| Did I mention that my roommate just turned 81 and renewed her driver's license, passing the written test?
Yes, she drives herself around now.

Oh, the roomie is out of town.

| The best way to have fun ogling men is with like-minded women. I've chatted with like-minded men but that's somewhat creepy for me. | |

No worries. But my ex and I are truly going to have a wild adventure tomorrow! We are going to navigate the waters near my home on a raft--and we wont' be naked or 'nekkid' as we say here in the South. That's the kind of wild I like to be!

| Donna! Isn't it fabulous!
Random:
Now I know why I was awake so early. Yesterday, a work colleague said they would leave something for me to borrow inside a shed, with the padlock undone but the door shut.
I forgot to get the item and instead went home. Therefore the shed, with $$$ of equipment, could have been unlocked allllllllll night!
Jeepers, I need a PA. Donna, is that in our budget?
