Sorry to be off-line for so long. My laptop crashed just before I left for family christmas and, as I'm not home yet, I can't connect my new computer. Santa has been good to me but there are a few wild tales to tell also.

The family decided to only exchange gifts with their immediate family, so instead of going to others houses and watching everyone else exchange gifts, instead I decided to stay home and have a quiet day here. I had roast duck with stuffing and potatoes, cheese rolls and lots and lots of fattening eggnog. I spent the day watching Christmas stuff on TV and had a few glasses of wine.

Today I'm going to get ready in a bit and run up to the store to see if I can score a 1/2 off Christmas tree for next year. Perhaps everyone will be better off financially by next Christmas that I will actually be able to put up a tree with presents underneath. Or maybe I'll just skip out of town next year and have a little vacation of my own.

It sucks being broke.

I got a tree, but now that I look at it I'm not sure it's the one I wanted. I guess I should get it out and look at it before I decided to keep it or not. They had everything half price, so I got a nice tree skirt to go with it too.

Ahhhhhh yes, the after Christmas sales. I used to look forward to that time of the year more than Christmas itself.

Hi y'all.

Christmas in your own home is a great idea, Donna. Alone or not, it has advantages. Next year, I will be staying put and anyone who wants to see me can visit ME. That includes the fat guy in the red suit. I didn't even put my tree up this year because of Le Pooch and his chewing/pulling fetish so I may just out-splash everyone next year with decorations and lights.

Let me list some of my end-of-year haul: house stuff (electric salt/pepper grinders, ceiling fan, fruit bowl), gardening stuff (lotion, gloves, small tools, rake), wine, digital photo frame, felt table coasters, bracelet, necklace. But by far, the most precious was the amount of funny moments with the little people and Le Pooch. Cuddles, kisses, licks, stories and games abounded for a few days.

How did Christmas unfold for everyone else?

What I'd really love to do one year is just up and leave and go somewhere, all spur of the moment-like. But you gotta have money to do that, unfortunately. Sad

Some airlines have last minute supercheap fares to random places. I'm not that spontaneous.

Got cards, gift towers, handmade ornament, shelf for computer, perfume set, LEGOs, and half-a-dozen puppets. Plus hugs, pictures, and hassle-free boring air travel.

I tried freezing some eggnog, but I don't think it took very well. I checked it last night and it was sort of mushy.

Freezing eggnog? That's kinda like freezing pudding. Pudding doesn't want to freeze either.

What about margaritas? Or rum? Something without milk or cream would probably freeze better.

Thanks for asking, PJ! It's good to be back. The cruise was nice, though I got motion sickness the last day because the winds were rocking us SO much.

I swan with dolphins! I held onto the fins of one while she pulled me through the water. It was so cool! She also gave us kisses, splashed us, shook our hands with her fins, did a flip for us, and demonstrated how she can swim 20 mph. Also, she and a baby dolphin swan all around us so we could pet them. They feel silky, slippery soft.

I hung out on a beautiful beach and had my hair braided in cornrows with beads.

I am so glad to be back though. I'm glad to hear everyone got some nice presents for Christmas. Here's to a great New Year for all of us!!

LOL, Nay! I think my favorite destination was Isla Roatan, Honduras because I got to hang out on a beautiful beach and do nothing but get my hair braided and drink a strawberry daiquiri.

I did have my fair share of fruity drinks, whiskey sours, and wine. drunken

I'm sure there were people there far more interesting than me, but I was being to shy to really meet anyone.

I didn't learn to do any of those dances, but I'd love to someday!

Emily, I had a week in Tahiti a number of years ago and my favourite cocktail was a Pina Colada by the pool late in the afternoon.
