| I'm feeling a little hopeful for myself. The job area isn't going so well, but I have a copy of the latest community college's summer catalog and there are a few things I've been wanting to take. Summer school for me. I'm planning on taking a couple of online business classes-HR, management, and some actual fun classes that I want to take, that I could get a job with also-filming and photoshop. I've also wanted to learn how to draw, so if I can fit that somewhere, I'll do it.
I'm kind of excited... | |

| I have decided to take on the brave venture of SPRING CLEANING. Not that I don't clean regularly, but I'm talking taking down the curtains and drapes, doing windows, etc. type of cleaning.
I figure I might be finished by autumn.

| This is something I haven't done in years. I guess when you live in a house as long as I have, some things just get neglected (like the oven, for instance). | |

| I get a real thrill when I see that people haven't forgotten the 'Clean Panty Thread'.
On another note, I've just received an email from another Queensland Clan member who will also be travelling to Scotland in July. They want to meet or at least talk on the phone before we depart so that some familiar faces are known in the sea of strangers. I'm a little ... ummmm unsure.

| But of course I haven't forgotten this thread. It was my hope that these threads would be equivalent to the Support Center over at GALS. I think I'll start thread number 2 when we hit 69 pages. The "Say Something Random About You" is supposed to be for short snippets. I don't want those threads to replace these. | |

| Spring cleaning update....one bathroom is completely finished. I'm still washing. I hate to see my water/electric bill next month.
My house is going to be so bright and clean when I'm finished. I've been wanting to tackle these windows for a long time, but I knew it would mean fighting with getting the curtains and drapes off the wall and then back up. I hate hanging drapes.

| I hardly go to Youtube unless I'm sent a link, even though I have an account. I don't even post videos there anymore. It was only used as a back up for a video hosting account that I was having trouble with at the time.
I was going through emails and I had received a comment on one of my videos. I decided to look and saw that one of my videos had over 12,000 views.
I don't believe I make my videos for everyone anyways, so I don't appreciate people who don't care to see my videos, to waste their time watching my videos. Did that make sense? I've had to delete some offensive remarks. I don't mind criticism, but offending remarks was too much to keep up there.
Anyways, someone must really like that video, because the rest of the videos have views only up to about 4000 or so. I don't even promote the work.
It kinda of shocked me to see numbers that high. Not that it makes a difference to how I feel about youtube. My videos are on Multiply and there are no actual counts on who sees videos.
The video isn't a G video either.
I'm not going to make you watch it, just to see what it is. It's now on the front of 'my' page.

| Last night, I was completely spellbound by a movie - 'Lemon Tree'. It is the true story of a gentle but fierce battle between a Palestinian widow and her new neighbour, the Israeli Defense Minister. Salma inherited a lemon tree grove from her father and she, with a lone elderly worker, tends the trees still. The Israeli Secret Service decide that the grove which is built on the Green Line could potentially camouflage terrorists ready to attack the Minister and his lonely wife. Therefore, they ruthlessly order the trees to be destroyed. After Salma's first legal battle is dismissed, she moves it to the Israeli Supreme Court where the story gains national and international legs.
Spice is added to the story by the growing tension between the jewish husband and wife, the obvious language and class barriers, an unworkable love between younger lawyer and older client, bumbling soldiers, arrogant invaders and the hint of patriarchy evident in their daily lives.
The final scene shows the inevitable concrete wall built to separate the two neighbours. The camera rises above it to allow us to see the cut down lemon trees and the widow tending them.
An exquisite movie. http://www.abc.net.au/atthemovies/txt/s2367971.htm http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/04/30/AR2009043003829.html http://www.chron.com/disp/story.mpl/ent/movies/nowshowing/6413699.html

| Happy Mothers Day to all of you mothers. There's nothing like throwing a bunch of stuff in a crock pot and calling it chili. Not that I haven't made chili plenty of times in my life, but this is a new concoction...I sipped it and it tastes delicious. It's a chicken chili/tomato based concoction this time. I was going to barbecue hamburgers, but now it's looking like it will rain and it's just not the same, barbecuing in the rain. Still cleaning off and on....listening to music....wishing the chili was finished NOW because I'm HUNGRY. | |

| I had some semi-doubts about this chili when I was making it, but now that it's finished and I'm chowing down, I have to say it's damn delicious!! Considering I didn't follow a recipe, I wonder if I can get it to taste like this again.
I'm just sitting at my puter if anyone wants to chat. Bravenet or chatbox?
