We talked about sharing music in chat. A friend introduced me to this guy and he's different but I love him!

Thanks for the thread! I moved it to "off topic" so it would be more easily found there.

My roomie just played this song for me. I feel guilty for laughing so hard.

I know! It's horribly mean! He said one of his coworkers has it as a ring tone for his ex-wife.

The first time I heard this song, I cried all the way through it because it's about me.

One of my favorite movies, The Color Purple. This movie has some really good music, too. This one is called "Miss Celie's Blues":

Thanks for sharing that! I love to hear new music or to be reminded of music I had not heard in a while. I haven't seen this movie in ages but that song reminds me how great Whoopi was in that movie.
Thanks!

Everybody was good there, and that is a good movie. I love it and watch it whenever it shows up on my TV.

Very nice song. Perfect for waltz.
Surprisingly, I've never heard this song before. I know the lead singer, Sharleen just put out a solo album, but I haven't listened to it yet. And I am missing a few albums from her band.
For newbies, Sharleen's writing partner, can't remember his name, is the father of the young boy in Dear Frankie.

I didn't know that about Johnny.
I wish they would become more popular here. I listen to a lot of music from artists that are popular in Europe and Canada but not here. I also go to a lot of music festivals and catch up and coming artists. My roommate plays guitar and sings cover songs--mostly country songs and sometimes he performs at festivals. It's just a hobby to him.

Nay, is this someone you posted before, and I missed it, or is this person overrated?
I found this while looking up a top list of dance music for the week.
The video is just wacky, but cute and very clever. And the song is very catchy. I also looked up some of her other songs. Although I prefer her upbeat songs, she's interesting to listen to...

No Alice, I've not heard her music before. I quite like it though. Thanks.
Here's someone from whom I want to hear more, meaning buy her album:
And a friend has switched me onto Imogen Heap:

Great songs ladies. I am adding them to my "collection." I tend to stay with the tried and true for me and the only way I hear new music is if someone plays it for me.

A little more of the Aussie for you ...
I realise John Howard is short and hung off George Bush but I have no idea at all that Tony Blair was a GIRL!
