| DK--I am going to pray and 'think good thoughts" for your AC! I know it's a pain to deal with.
In the meantime, I have come up with some ways we can stay cool.
1. Stay naked for as long as possible. Check the laws of your state and see if being naked is allowed in public anywhere. If you are in a relationship, try to do this without being tempted to 'make whopee.' 2. If you do decide to get frisky with your significant other while naked, reenact some of the scenes from "91/2 Weeks" which involved ice and the refrigerator to stay cool. If you haven't seen the movie, make it up as you go along. 3. DK has suggested wearing a bras made out of coconut shells and I think it was grass skirts. If you think you will have a hard time selling that idea to your coworkers, suggest a "luau" day at work. Then you have a good excuse to dress that way. 4. Go to Walmart and buy one of those kid's plastic pools for your office. Get in it as much as possible. Hell, suggest that everyone get one and that everyone should be sitting in their pool at meetings instead of those terrible office chairs. And if you are the only one with a pool in your office, charge others to use it.
Okay, I know we have some very funny and creative people here. Please add your quirky ideas for staying cool!

| Fill a couple of small buckets with ice and put your feet in them.
Put ice in zip lock bags in log-like rolls. Roll ice rolls into a towel or scarf, and wear it around your neck. Or use those boo-boo freezer packs.
Get small freezer packs. Use them as bra pads. Or butt pads.
Give yourself a brain freeze every hour or so.
Put your contacts in the fridge before putting them in your eyes.
Freeze tampons before use.

Freeze tampons before use. Sometimes I worry about you. OK------- Hot weather fashion Wear a skirt and go "commando". Go bra-less. Go shoe-less. Heck, just wear your bathing suit. Note----The wet-tee shirt is much more comfortable if the wet is ice water --not sweat. Wear an ice bag as a hat. Get a plaid one to match the skirt and go for the "school girl" or "crazy scotsman" look. (Depending on whether or not you carry a bagpipe full of frozen beverage.)

| Me too, Sami!
ROFL, Shar!
Love the idea of going commando in a skirt but watch out on breezy days if you are outside some, like me. And also be careful going commando in a wrap-around skirt.
Loving the laughter, ladies. We need it after the stressful times we have all had.

| Going commando isn't my thing. Sitting on towel-wrapped ice packs works for me.
Wear a dress with longish length, put a fan on the floor, and blow air into the dress. You get wind blowing out the neck and arm holes.

| That's awful, Andrea. Why would they do that? Can you report the mobbing behaviour to the owner? | |

I've had that mobbing happen many times, and I left to a better job.

| Oh dear, Andrea. I hope you find another job, as it is not worth going through what you are at work. I will be honest with you. I have never heard of mobbing, but it sounds terrible if it is what I think it is. | |

| It just never ends. I get home and feel the air coming out of the ducts doesn't feel that cool. Well, it turns out all of my copper coils on my AC were frozen over. Now I have the entire unit off, defrosting. Thank God for my portable AC unit.
I'm hoping it's simply due to it running non-stop in this heat, and not some other issue.

That's funny. I hope it's just the non-stop running, too.

| Well, I took another look under my house late this afternoon, and it appears a crossover duct has come loose. This is probably why the AC is running non-stop and not cooling properly, and probably also why the coils froze up on me today. I'm going to try to crawl under there tomorrow and fix it. I hope I don't get bitten by something. | |

| Good news----I thought was was bitten by a brown recluse spider, ( and my skin might rot off in hunks ) but I wasn't.
Bad news-----The doctor's diagnosis---shingles. (It's just going to feel and look as if it's rotting off for a while.)
I'm on meds, but it's going to take time. So wish me luck.

I just had a similar experience. My family thought I was bitten by a spider. It's a skin infection. Taken meds too.

| Good lord, it's taken me three days to download a video from Amazon.com. And I still can't get it to play.
I paid for it and it never 'appeared' in my account. I had to write to customer service about it.
After they moved it to my account or library, I downloaded the film and it won't play because of its digital rights deal and my computer needed an upgrade. I was directed MSN's site to fix it and the site's program upload button doesn't work.
Just to even watch this thing, I've paid for the two day service, had to download a special 'viewing' window, upgrade Adobe, and then attempt to upgrade the digital rights program.
I have worked way to hard to download one movie.
No wonder people prefer illegal downloading. It's way easier. One program, download, watch.
