oh gosh, that's right...not only does he do gossip columns, he advertises himself.

I really don't believe a lot of the gossip but it's funny to hear the things that are said.

He is cheap! I would have hoped he would have at least sprung for a Victoria's Secret or maybe even a Wal-Mart card.

The Butler did give quite a sum of money on these cards, supposedly. I just wish I was exotic enough to get one of them. I love to shop...

I'm reserving judgment on the Mel Gibson thing.
I don't condone the words he used or the hateful racial slur, but I do wonder what provoked him and if it was intentional and part of a plan to trap him and get stuff on tape in order just to threaten him with public exposure. Due to his drunken rant in the past, it is easy for the public to jump to conclusions, and I wonder if he was manipulated into these incidents for extortion purposes (as it it alleged that she tried to get him to get him to pay for the tapes) as well as for leverage in their custody battle. If you were abused (and supposedly punched in the mouth and had your teeth knocked out) I can see taping incidents to protect yourself and for proof, but then why wait for help, hide the fact, and try to extort money?
Also, in the heat of the moment people often say the worst things that they can think of in order to hurt the person. Not that that is an excuse for his words especially the racial slurs, but the whole thing seems odd and one-sided. Leaking to the press is disgusting, and smells of manipulation. They have a child together. Why put that out there where it is on the internet and in the press and public forever for your child to see later?
So I want to hear the full story. Whatever the truth, the whole thing is sad for all involved. Mel may be an abusive, racist, disgusting man -but I want to hear everything before jumping to conclusions.

Who knows? If true, I do think it will be interesting to see if Hollywood shuns him - especially since many seem to support Polanski, a confessed child rapist. What is worse, a child rapist or someone spewing hate speech? Hate speech is legal in this country. Raping is not. It's all interesting to ponder. And then there is the allegation of physical abuse, which at this point is just an allegation.

Is it true that this woman had earrings with a microphone hidden in them? Is she part of that Russian spy ring?
The whole thing gets more and more bizarre.

Like I said, I don't believe in trial by media, because it is too easily manipulated. I want to see more facts before I make any judgments. But the whole thing is disturbing.

This may surprise you but I agree with you. I think the Internet news and gossip sites and "citizen journalism" are some of the worse things that have happened to journalism. People are allowed to make baseless accusations without real facts to back up those accusations. And those media outlets/Internet sites that just want to make money or generate traffic lower their standards. A lot of what passes as journalism lacks ethics, professionalism and balance (telling both sides of the story). Sometimes I don't want to call that person who has done something so horrible it will give me nightmares for weeks but I have to tell both sides of the story.

Like you, Dallas, I don't condone what Gibson has done in any way but most times I reserve judgment on things until charges are filed by authorities or in some cases a civil case is heard and won. And our legal system is not always perfect and there are flaws. But I still strongly believe in it.

Mel hit her yesterday? Recently? The lastest news on Mel I saw was that his long time agent died and the agency dropped him because the other agent hates Mel for hating Jews.

Is it hateful to hate haters?

How can a Christian who professes to love Jesus hate Jews? Jesus is a Jew. Boggles my mind.

Haven't listened to anything but the discussion here is quite interesting.

I don't have an opinion, because I don't have enough info to make a decision.

But I do agree about the discussion about media. I'm amazed at how many 'critics' are out there, and their professionalism is something to wonder about-even worse to see professional sites with misspelled words.
