PostSubject: Random Acts of Kindness   Random Acts of Kindness Icon_minitimeWed Jan 28, 2009 8:44 am

I went out to shovel my driveway this morning, only to realize someone had done it for me. I think it was my neighbor, because I looked out the window when I first woke up this morning and saw he was shoveling my next door neighbor's driveway, too. I didn't think much about it because he always does that for her (I assumed she paid him or something). But this is the first time he's done it for me.

It's always something to me when a person does something kind for someone else, and doesn't ask for anything in return - even to the point of doing so anonymously.

I'll still have to thank him when I see him, though...even if he chooses to deny he did it. Wink

That's a lovely story to hear, DK. RAK are best when they are anonymous though.

I learned about the wonders of random acts of kindness years ago and have done so ever since. It simply fills me with warm fuzzies to the point that I have to keep it up. It doesn't have to be something huge, just a small comment on pretty earrings, a nice complexion, a to-die-for sweater. when it comes to judgement day you'll get to feel all the warm tingles that they felt, what could be more rewarding than that?

Some times they are anonymous, but I also like to see the blush and smile when I say it to their face, make it real for that moment.

The world could certainly use more RAK and pay it forwards and all that.

I have a new stalker after I was a very sweet grocery store clerk 2 days ago. I have an 85 year old silver haired lady that shops every other day and she walks with a cane. I took her groceries out for her and she grabbed my arm to hold on. She has a very old car that does not have an automatic trunk and she was shaking so hard she could not get the key in, so I opened the trunk for her and put her bags in and off she went. She came back today and asked specifically for me to pack her groceries, cuz, I am perfect, and packed them at just the right weight for her little skinny body to carry. It was so cute, she grabbed my arm and off we went to her car. I don't even know her name yet, but, she sure remembered me and had me paged to come up to the check out counter.

It was really cute, and made my whole day. She reminds me of my great Aunt Doris, whose maiden name was Bennett, alas, where I got my sons name from.

Ok this was really random, I am so damn tired I can't even think straight and not sure if I spelled anything right at all.
LOL. RAK are the best thing in the world right now. They make you feel all fuzzy and warm in this frickin cold winter.

I was going to ask if anyone is without power. Duh.

Stay safe and warm, everyone.
