They were alleged to have split up earlier this year amid rumours Gerard had wined and dined Rita Ora.

But Gerard Butler and girlfriend Morgan Brown continued to prove they were still very much an item as they enjoyed a beach date in Malibu, California on Sunday.

The 46-year-old Hollywood actor and property developer Morgan put on an affectionate display as they wandered along the sand hand-in-hand.

However, it didn't seem to be the best weather for their stroll along the water's edge and the couple were seen grimacing as a cold wave washed over their feet.

Gerard was casually clad in a pair of colourful board shorts and a navy T-shirt.

Morgan displayed her tanned legs in a pair of khaki cut-out shorts and covered up in a light wool jumper.

The brunette beauty went make-up free for their trip, wearing her tousled locks down loose.

Back in February it was claimed Gerard spent the night with Rita Ora at a four-star Hollywood hotel.

Us Weekly alleged the actor and the pop star enjoyed a romantic dinner in West Hollywood, where Butler paid the bill.

The insider also claims that the two were seen hugging before allegedly retiring to a private room in the hotel.

However, nothing appeared to materialise following the dinner and Gerrard now looks to be back on track with Morgan.

The pair have been spotted several times together since the initial rumours and seem happier than ever.

Butler enjoyed a reputation as a bit of a ladies man before he started dating Brown two years ago.

He's been linked in the past with Hollywood beauties including Cameron Diaz and Jennifer Aniston and supermodel Naomi Campbell.

It certainly appears that Morgan fits the bill when it comes to her beau's idea of the perfect partner.

'I love a woman who has a good sense of her own style....when, no matter how simple it is, you can just tell she wears it well,' he revealed in an interview with InStyle.
