Since getting together with his girlfriend over a year ago, he's transformed from his reputation as a Hollywood playboy to smitten kitten.

Gerard Butler once again could not keep his hands to himself, as he put on a cheeky public display of affection on the beach in Malibu, California, in Saturday.

The 45-year-old actor got up close and personal with girlfriend Morgan Butler, as the couple once again kept close hold of each other.

The 300 star couldn't resist grabbing an opportunity to fondle the interior designer's derriere as she showed off her toned legs in a short floral summer dress.

She soon stripped down into her skimpy swimwear, and no doubt her fabulous figure caught her beau's eye as the pair enjoyed some beach games with friends.

Gerard stripped-off his blue t-shirt to reveal his torso, which looked less ripped than usual.

Meanwhile the PS I Love You actor's next film London Has Fallen - the sequel to 2013's Olympus Has Fallen - has had its release date pushed back from from January to March 2016.

Gerard will also be starting to film his new movie, The Headhunter's Calling, in Toronto from October 26, which he'll produce as well as star in, according to Variety.

The trade also reported that he'll be joined in the movie by Willem Dafoe and Alfred Molina.

He's been a changed man since meeting her over a year ago - and it's clear to see why Gerard Butler is so smitten with girlfriend Morgan Brown.

The pretty brunette rocked a black bikini during a day at the beach and the Scottish actor couldn't keep his hands off her.

The 300 star never strayed far from his main squeeze as they hung out with friends in Malibu and wasn't embarrassed to share a sexy smooch on the sand with the interior designer.

Brown, who it's believed started dating Butler in May 2014, showed off her enviably pert derriere in the tiny black bikini bottoms that had ties at the sides.

The beach babe happily waded into the surf with the actor by her side to cool off as the Los Angeles area basked in record heat Saturday.

It looked as though he might also have had to scale back his workout regime due to a back injury.

It certainly appears that Brown fits the bill when it comes to her beau's idea of the perfect partner.

But it seems Gerard Butler has surrendered his top tum crown as he hangs out at the beach in Malibu, California with his slender girlfriend Morgan Brown.

The pair looked relaxed as they took in the delights of the sea with friends amid soaring temperatures in the Los Angeles area.
