It was another day of relaxation in the sun for Gerard Butler and his girlfriend Morgan Brown.

The Hollywood hunk and his gorgeous lady stepped out in Malibu, California on Wednesday, the pair enjoying a day out together - heading out for lunch and also taking a fun ride on a golf cart.

Scottish actor Gerard, 45, led the way as he and his partner stepped out for a mid-afternoon meal.

Morgan, who is rumoured to be engaged to the 300 star, looked chilled out and lovely in a pair of tiny denim shorts and a cropped orange printed top with flowing sleeves.

The slender beauty showed off her lean legs and trim torso in her not-too-revealing ensemble, that no doubt kept her cool under the scorching Californian heat during their day out.

The brunette, who isn't afraid to flaunt her enviable figure on her days out with her man, finished her look with a pair of simple flat sandals and a wide-brimmed hat.

Gerard, meanwhile, was even more casual and decidedly dad-like in a pair of striped shorts and a loose-fitting lilac T-shirt.

As the smitten pair stepped out for lunch, they walked separately, choosing not to back on the PDA as they so often do when out in public together.

But later on they also took a ride on a golf cart together, after an outfit change.

Morgan looked sweet as she rested her head on her man's shoulder while he drove the small vehicle through Malibu, as they shunned a typical car for their journey.

Gerard and Morgan have been in a romance since last summer, and aren't too shy about displaying their feelings for each other.

And Morgan has been spotted wearing a large sparkler on her left ring finger, but there has yet to be official confirmation of an engagement.

Reformed badboy Gerard has previously been romantically linked to the likes of Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Aniston and Naomi Campbell and, prior to his love affair with Morgan, his last girlfriend was Romanian model Madalina Ghenea, who he dated in 2013.

However, since getting together with Morgan - they were first pictured together in July last year - the pair have been inseperable.

Away from his seemingly idyllic personal life, the action hero will next be seen on-screen in the crime thriller, London Has Fallen, the follow up to Olympus Has Fallen.

The British star is also set to be the new face of the Compare The Market adverts in the UK.

He has reportedly been ‘tapped’ by bosses of the insurance company who think he is the perfect choice to appear alongside meerkats Aleksandr Orlov and Sergei in the infamous ads.

Gerard's war flick 300 has been chosen as the inspiration for the ad, which means he will might show off his impeccable torso as seen in the movie.

He will follow in the footsteps of Arnold Schwarzenegger, who appeared alongside Aleksandr and Sergei in a comical advert earlier this year.
