Gerard Butler: Farmers Market Lunch With Parents

Gerard Butler leaves Farmers Market after having lunch with his parents on Tuesday (March 20) in Los Angeles.

The 42-year-old actor dined at an outdoor table and took a phone call in between bites.

Gerard recently signed on to star in Olympus Has Fallen, which he’ll also produce.

The action film centers around an ex Secret Service agent who has to prevent a terrorist attack on the president’s residence.

I don't know what is worse -showing chewed up food in your mouth or talking on the phone while eating with your parents.

First it was rehab for a painkiller addiction, then Gerard Butler was caught in the middle of a scandal involving a married woman.
So you can hardly blame his parents, Edward and Margaret, for making sure that they keep a close eye on their boy.

He may be 42-years-old but the concerned couple still flanked the Scottish heartthrob as they went for lunch in LA today.

The trio picked the family setting of the grove for a slap up meal at the Farmer's Market there.

It's a safer option for the renowned lothario, who has attracted attention for all the wrong reasons lately.

And while he's far too old to actually be grounded, we imagine his mother and father are keeping a tab on his daily life in this difficult post-rehab period.
Gerard entered a facility after developing a dependency on pain medication after a surfing accident.

No sooner had he left rehab and started to put that scandal behind him, he was at the centre of the affair allegations.

The fling had been with an up-and-coming actress, it was reported, and resulted in the end of her marriage.

She has since filed for divorce, believing at the time that she had a chance of a future with Butler.

The woman has not yet been named, but yesterday claims emerged that she also had an affair with rocker Dave Navarro when he was married to Carmen Electra, who later divorced.

RadarOnline.com broke the story that the Machine Gun Preacher star carried on the affair with the unnamed woman for several months last year.

A source told the site: 'It was a very intense relationship. She had very strong feelings for Gerard, despite the fact that she was a newlywed at the time.

'They would exchange heated text messages, emails and phone calls. She would drop anything to be with Gerard.

'The two would hook up at his hotel when he was in Los Angeles.'

On an unrelated note, I visited the Farmers Market while in LA a few years ago. We spotted Bob Saget there, sitting at a table whilst involved in what seemed to be a deep conversation with someone (we left him alone).

It was a neat place. Lots of food and little booths to buy things.
