To all of you foreigners - a blessed, happy and gratitude filled holiday!

Take care if you are travelling and come back with lots of funny stories (and extra tight pants).

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I'm getting ready to start preparing my birds for slaughter. I'll be checking in and out throughout the evening.

Thanks! Right now the duck is roasting in the oven, and it's beginning to smell really good in here. Smile I'm glad I bought the turkey on Saturday instead of Sunday, because it still has a bit of thawing to do. My plan is to get the turkey ready tonight, throw it in the roasting pan, throw the pan in the fridge, go to bed, get up in the morning, throw the turkey in the oven, then go back to bed for a bit (maybe, maybe not). But since I only have so much room in the oven, I have to get everything else ready tonight (including the duck). I just hope I don't eat all the duck tonight and not have any left for tomorrow. Laughing

That sounds like fun. Actually, it's supposed to be pretty mild here tomorrow as well. In a way, I'm kinda disappointed because I wanted to build a fire in the fireplace when my company comes, but I think it's going to be too warm.

Oh...my...GOD. I just got the duck out of the oven, and seriously if I don't stop picking at it, there isn't going to be any of it left in time for tomorrow.

The cornbread's a bakin' now, and as soon as that's finished I can stuff my bird....er, stuff the turkey. I have a cake to bake too.

Wow, I'm impressed. I think Donna should be a holiday cook on the Food network.

Yeah...Barefoot DonnaKat.

I think I got into the wrong profession, because I love to cook...and eat. Smile

I cook, eat, eat, cook some more, eat some more, etc. Smile

I think I'm almost finished for the night. The carrot cake is in the oven right now. After that's finished, I think I'll go to bed and finish it tomorrow. According to my dad, I need to put the turkey in the oven in less than 7 hours. What, are we eating at frikkin' NOON??? Sheesh....

I'm tired.

Maybe he likes to eat early. It means that they'll leave earlier...think about it.

As much as I love having a house full of people all day, it feels GREAT to be sitting here alone now, in the peace and quiet, enjoying a nice glass of wine and having the house to myself once again.

I have a TON of food, though. Surprisingly, it's the turkey and stuffing that is almost gone this time, and it's all the side dishes that is clogging up my refrigerator right now. It seems no matter how much I tell my mom not to, she brings TONS of side dishes. I have side dishes coming out the wazoo right now, and she never wants to bring them back home with her. Laughing

She lived through another one.

I just got home, too. It wasn't as big as we usually have, which means people had families or friends to go to, which is a good thing.

We usually have everyone take plates and trays of food home. I think we've had the least amount of food leftover, thank goodness. I don't think there is any turkey left. I know the pies went before I even got to them.

Funny, I don't eat much during Thanksgiving, and I'm stuffed. My plate wasn't full and I didn't do seconds.

Eek! *falls down under the Kat*

I almost fell down being greeted by a 9-month-old Great Dane, in-laws' new pet. She's almost as tall as me and weighs almost as much. That's going to be one big DOG when she's full grown.

I'm thankful the dog decided I wasn't edible. Laughing

I'd like to have a taste of DKat's cooking one of these days.
