I don't know that one, Julie. Which movie character says it?
Shar, is that KungFu Panda by any chance?

Happy Birthday, Sweet Sami, Amanda, and PJ! (Though I think I already got you PJ, but Happy Birthday again. )
And beautiful new pic, Sami! Very pretty and glamorous.
My movie quote contributions:
"A census taker once tried to test me. I ate his liver with some fava beans and a nice chianti."
"I'll have what she's having."
"Just when I thought I was out. They pull me back in."
“We’re not going to leave a baby in the room. There’s a f**king tiger in the bathroom.”
"The greatest trick the Devil ever pulled was convincing the world he didn't exist. And like that, poof. He's gone."
"Keaton always said, 'I don't believe in God, but I'm afraid of him.' Well I believe in God, and the only thing that scares me is Keyser Soze." [same movie as one above]
"This is a story of boy meets girl, but you should know upfront, this is not a love story."

I was driving home when a morning show radio presenter mentioned something before the midday news. Despite her well-known issues, I was still surprised by her death. Today's reports here are hinting at accidental death in a bathtub.
Her voice is simply irreplacable.

Ever notice celebrities either die really old, like over 70 with some old age thing, or under 50 of drugs or violence?

I didn't watch the Grammys, Julie. But that's lovely to hear. And refreshing.
I saw that Whitney's 18-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina was hospitalized, but has been released. As someone who also lost her mother at a younger age than should have happened, my heart goes out to her. But at least I was an adult and had at least a little bit of time to prepare. Poor Bobbi Kristina is so young, and lost her mother suddenly.
On Facebook, I also posted videos of some of my favorites of Whitney's. It was hard to narrow them down. Like Nay did above, I included "I Will Always Love You". The other two are below. Her version of "Jesus Loves Me" seems a fitting tribute. And her performance at the Superbowl during the Persian Gulf War seems to be one of the, if not the, top pick of people's all-time favorite peformances of our national anthem here in the U.S. Very moving and inspiring.

Today, a good man and friend lost his job.
He was a hard working employee in his industry for 35 years and they have 'sacked him' aka. terminated his contract. We polished off a bottle of wine not really knowing any other way of looking at it.
Sacked.

Man, that stinks. I'm sorry for your friend. I know how it feels. That's why I get irritated when companies/bosses expect you to forsake other parts of your life for the "good of the company". Good of the company is usually translated into basically living at work, taking work home, working weekends on top of morning and evening overtime, working through lunch and breaks, never taking vacation, sick, or personal time off and basically having no life outside of work. Then when said person does that, often it affects their physical and/or mental and emotional health, then at a moment's notice they can be let go without even a second thought - "for the good of the company".
I used to work for a company that did not allow their employees to work over 9 hours per day. Their philosophy was that after 9 hours, you were no longer productive and needed to clock out.
I sometimes wish we still lived in the days where shops closed up at 5pm and were closed on weekends. We're so spoiled in this country, we want things immediately, when we want it. My theory is if people weren't working so many hours during the week, they'd have time and energy to run their errands during the week and not have to work it all in on the weekend or even on Sunday because they had to work 6 days per week and half the day on Sunday from home.
And with that said, I'm off to get ready for work. I hope everyone has a good day!

There is no job security anymore. I know it scares me to know that even after twenty years, I could be fired for a supposed minor infraction.

I'm sorry to hear about your friend, DK. Has she been offered any support (recruitment, counselling) from her workplace?
It just seems that loyalty and therefore longevity of service in employees is not respected anymore and that is so wrong.
