| Well, it's nice to know that there are miracles after the holidays. My car is working now, after fixing the signal light. It amazes me that a whole car could die because of one little light not working.
I haven't touched my laptop since last Sat. So, maybe we could go two for two? I know, I'm pushing it.

| Honestly, the smallest of actions make my day.
A short, cheerful person told me today I was wonderful .... Damn fine idea to suck up to the Boss! He's been trained well.

| Hehehe...smart man! Nice work, Nay! LOL
Just got home from parent-teacher conferences and it makes me glow to hear how much the teachers love having my kids in class!
Plus, we went and picked up the eldest's first pair of glasses today, he's looking at the world in a whole new way! LOL

| I am over the moon right now. Stuff that I thought was lost to me forever is now coming back....
I first wrote in a place a little over two years ago with a bunch of other wonderful writers. Then, I developed another offshoot of that and continued writing. When I left, those stories were gone physically....but never from my heart.
Now, they're coming back....and being stored away where we can re live those happy memories all over again. This is truly a gift to me that I can never repay.

| I lost two more pounds. I guess being out of work is good for something. I'm eating less and moving around more. | |

| I haven't been 'exercising', per se. Just moving around more, probably due to not being stuck behind a computer terminal and sitting at a desk all day. Other than the fact that the money's going to run out eventually and I'm going to have to find a job, I'm finding my time off rather relaxing...that is, during those times I'm not fretting about not having work. Still no calls for interviews, though. I'm going to have to resort to some more drastic measures. Today was a good afternoon. I went shopping and picked up a pair of shoes on clearance for $5.99 - nice Spring shoes. Then I went to another store and found this pair of boots I wanted when I went there before, but didn't want to pay that much for them....well guess what. They were on clearance for 40% off...so I bought them. Then I went to Wal Mart and picked up a few things, then to the bank to deposit my check, and now I'm back home. It's so warm outside, you almost need the A/C in the car....almost. I opted to drive with all the windows down. My hairs got all mussed up, but I don't care. It felt good. | |

| ok -- here's a little story - that probably should be posted in the ranting thread -- because - it's about overly nosey & overbearing neighbors..... anybody got any of them ??? but I'm putting my little story here in the happy thread because -- it has a happy ending - or at least the ending made me happy & felt good... hee hee So nosey /overbearing neighbors -- we all had em/bumped into them etc - well I got one right across the street -- she like this - ya walk outside to get your mail -- or bring in your garbage cans -- or what not -- and she pops out with her cigarette in tow and comes over to gossip -- yammer go off on tangents -- (now look I am guilty of yammering, and am quit the tangent queen --BUT -- I usually ask whom ever I run into (my friends -- not my neighbors -- if this is good time to talk/ catch you at bad time etc... ) this woman doesn't have that phrase in her vocabulary -- she just stops ya and will yammer on for half an hour if ya let her -- she's also one of those borrowers --if ya don't watch her -- and once I baby-sat her cats for 9 days - when she when out of town - (which I really didn't mind --but she could have paid me a little somthing - sheez - I used to work at a vet -- it aint free there..and of course when I asked her if she'd watch my kitty for 5 days -- she had every excuse in book -- why she couldn't -- so no more cat-sitter for her) so Today -- she stops me to gossip... and finally asked me the damn stupidest question -- "she says so why is it that you are a brunett and your sister is a blonde ??" -- like WTF -- kinda question is that and who gives a rats a$$ anyway -- I paused for a second & then zinged her ass -- I said -- "Oh we had different Daddys -- and different Moms...too" I went in the house and laughed my ass off-- she seemed to laugh -- but I know I tripped her ass out with that one --- and I liked it... and yes -- I'm feeling a little wicked today... | |

| I am employed again!! Turns out, a branch of the company that laid me off in February is planning on going "independent", and needed contract work. The position is for 2-3 months at the moment, but seeing as how they have no document control person in the department (I will be it), if it works out they like me they can hire me full time permanent...at the same payscale I was making before (I did have to take a $3 cut in pay for this job). Something weird happened there, too. A lady in my department recognized me as her boss when I worked at KFC, like 20 years ago. LOL! What are the odds? | |
