| I'm happy because I will go to Ireland next week! I'm going to take my Mom with me (it's her birthday present) because with five kids still at home to care for she has rarely any time off and so I decided to spoil her (and me) a little! We're going to Dublin. Has anyone been there already? Any advice where to go and what to see there? jh | |

| Never been sorry, Julia.
I carry a bible with me wherever I travel. It's called "The Lonely Planet Guide". So the only recommendation I can give is to get your hands on one of those.

| Never been to Ireland. You might want to have a book on Irish idioms handy.

| I was there last year for my birthday and we were all over the place in Ireland, but we stayed outside of Dublin. I know half of our group took a bus tour throughout Dublin and they really liked it. They were starting to film the next season of The Tudors when the group was touring.
While they were touring Dublin, a friend and I drove to Belfast, which I really enjoyed. There was a wonderful playground and Belfast Eye. We were only in Dublin for a day and a half.
If you stay at a hotel, they usually have great booklets of the things that are happening around the city.
I guess everyone has to go to Guinness factory while you're in Dublin, if you drink. I don't. I really liked the views from our hotel towards the water. Very peaceful.

| Wow, sounds like you had a great trip, Alice!
And congrats on the snow, LJ! It think it might snow a bit today here (Wichita) too. We'll see. Can't say I'm excited about taking my dog for his walks in that. I hope he's still willing to go to the bathroom on grass when there's snow on it!

| I was made full time permanent at my job! They made the offer this morning. I start as an "official" employee of my company (rather than a contractor) effective next week. I also got a hefty raise in the process (more than I was making at the job that laid me off). Now to try to get some of this debt paid off that I accrued over the last couple of years.... | |

| No hand clapping. Headache.
Mother's Day brunch at my mom's country club (golf) was really nice. Kid never been to a big buffet spread before and was impressed. Said it's the best breakfast ever with sooooo many choices. The food was excellent. The waiters were attentive. The harp player in the lobby was a nice touch.
Would have been much more fun if I weren't sick.
