So there me and Candace were. Minding our own business. Doing the chicken dance in front of Penn Station. Because we had decided to walk from 23rd St. to Times Square by doing a different dance down each block. Naturally. And 34th St. was the chicken dance.

So we're minding our own business, doing the chicken dance, and the "clap clap clap clap!" part was getting a lot of attention. Not as much attention as our zombie walk got on 25th, but heads were turning. Including the head of Gerard Butler. And the rest of him. As well as his personal gentleman. He looked at us like we were crazy. With good reason. But he was dancing on the inside.

I smiled and waved at Mr. Butler. I didn't know who he was (of course). Candace informed me on the corner. And then we continued on our merry way, Macarena-ing down 35th.

How perfectly ironic (and appropriate) for someone to do that when she didn't even know who Gerry was.

God indeed has a sense of humor.

It's interesting the things I've been reading since they started shooting The Bounty, especially when they come from the extras on the set. Two particularly interesting ones came thru this morning:

Tapas are like Spanish appetizers. Usually people order several for a meal. Often when I go to a tapas bar/restaurant the table orders a bunch of different tapaps and everyone shares. It's great because you can have a little taste of different dishes.

Well, it appears he didn't share his email with her, so he might send it from his agency or something. I'm sure Gerry likes to get pictures of his own sometimes. It probably explains the camera he's holding on one of the set pictures. She probably wasn't the only one he posed with, but since she wanted a copy of the picture too, he said he'd email it to her. I would have asked the same thing, had it been me.

Still, the girl should be flattered. That doesn't happen every day. She's definitely cute, but not what you'd call exoticly beautiful (if that's a word). Maybe they struck up a conversation while shooting. I'm sure he was talking to a number of different people on the set.

It looks to me like Gerry took a picture with the entire squad, not just the one woman...unless he took individual pix with people as well. He was probably gathering email addresses, and the lady I quoted earlier made it sound like he singled her out.

Gosh! I would love to be an extra or something on one of his films. Here's hoping he decides to join the other celebs who want to help bring money to the Big Easy and films another movie in New Orleans! A girl can hope.....

He's done that before, in Vancouver. A group picture was sent to someone, not sure who...maybe .net.

I wonder if they've finished wrapping up at this particular location. Another Twitterer talked about being an extra, and this is what he had to say:

They're talking about all of the Twittering on JJ now. Some are speculating that G was using the "I want a picture" thing as a ploy to get contact information.

Could be, but I tend to think all that happened was he got a group picture (something that was verified by more than one extra), and those who wanted copies gave their email to Gerry's assistant. I know the argument made over at JJ was that they all had cellphones on them. That might be true, BUT I know for a fact that when you get group pictures with a celebrity, it's better to use fewer cameras because more cameras take more time. Lots of times the celebrity is rushed, and if you get one good picture with one camera to share with everyone, it's much easier than, say, using about 20 cameras. And none of these extras would have been able to get a 'group' picture on their own. And maybe the group picture is the only one they will be allowed to share. Lots of factors involved.

When the one extra Karen asked the other extra if she had given her email to Gerry's assistant as well, she replied that she had not because she figured just giving Karen's was enough and that Karen could forward the picture. This doesn't sound like a pickup ploy to me. It sounds like everyone got a group pic (female AND males alike), and a few people gave their emails to the assistant and will forward the pic on. It also makes sense because that way Gerry's personal email need not be revealed....he can send it via his agency.

However, that doesn't explain "Twitter Karen" milking it for all it's worth to garner attention for herself. She tweeted last night "I'm exhausted...ah Gerard Butler". She was most likely exhausted from filming all day and half the night, but she made it sound like something else. She probably knows people are now monitoring her Tweets, and is beginning to play little games (much like the Norwegian gal did).
