Not much traffic now, but that could change overnight. I remember the days when Gerry was only well known among his band of followers (women), but then "300" came out and he was famous overnight.

If that happens with Tom, one day your Forum for him will attract traffic. As said in "The Field of Dreams", "they will come..."Wink

So, can I ask if Tom plays a good guy or a bad guy in Inception?

I saw this reported at a news site. I immediately thought of Gerry and the bisexual fake story, and wondered if this was true, but it seems to be on the news circuit.

I went to DListed to read what gem Michael K had to add and laughed out loud at this:

Quote :
Tom should watch himself with the "Played with Everything and Everyone" thing, because I'm pretty sure Gerard Butler has already copyrighted that saying for the title of his autobiography.

Seems he thought of Gerry too! hahahaha!!!

Sami, I find DListed hard to read at times but he does have a great turn of phrase.

We have some major Tom fans on MFO.

http://www.cinemaspy.com/Movie-News/Tom-Hardy-Batmans-Best-Nemesis-Yet/4727

So let's draw a safe assumption right off the bat (sorry): there's no way Chris Nolan would cast Tom Hardy in 'Batman 3' to play anything other than a villain, right? Never mind the precedent that Gary Oldman's deliciously malevolent talents have been wasted as the straightforward Jim Gordon—it won't likely be the case for Tom Hardy, who Deadline reports has been cast in the new film. The talented actor is almost certainly going to be a villain.

With that more or less established, the logical question is what villain will he play?

It was revealed a few days ago that production will take place in Louisiana. Yet despite veiled hints from Mark Millar that Killer Croc will appear in the film, we just can't see it. The character diverges too far from the real world verisimilitude that Chris Nolan has established with this series so far, and given that the third film is reputed to be the last in the series (at least under Nolan), we can't see the director going in the direction of a scientifically implausible character like Croc, even if it is depicted as a bestial disease. Reptilian atavism is too much of a stretch for the Nolan franchise, in our opinion.

If the character's atavism was less overtly reptilian and portrayed more subtly as a disorder, such that his appearance merely led him to be eventually nicknamed as Killer Croc, it might be doable, but Christian Bale battling a full-on lizard man? Don't place all your chips on this one, folks. Plus, with recent word from The Wrap that Rhys Ifans will play Dr. Curt Connors, better known as The Lizard, in Marc Webb's Spider-Man, we doubt both films will use lizard villains.

So what about Riddler? Warner's July casting info suggested that The Riddler would be the main villain, and he still makes the most sense, frankly…though a secondary villain (as in The Dark Knight) could also be introduced, too.

Tom Hardy as Riddler? The actor certainly has the chops to turn the character from camp to consequential and offer a level of wry, sinister evil akin to what Heath Ledger did with The Joker. This is still the safest bet.

But there are other characters from the Batman universe that Hardy could play well—assuming Nolan doesn't have an original role lined up for the actor.

Black Mask would be one. With a pedigreed background like Bruce Wayne, but parents who cared little for their son's well being, Roman Sionis shares a similar heritage to Wayne, yet is at the same time the antithesis of everything he stands for. Some interesting material could be mined here as the two square off both as corporate opposites and masked rivals. Again, a more believable, 'real world' crime figure of the kind we would expect from Nolan. And a great part for Hardy.

Then there's Deadshot. A marksman-for-hire who could be played a bit like the uber-assassins we witnessed in Wanted, Floyd Lawton offers a lethality with one of the few weapons that Batman thoroughly eschews, creating a nice counterpoint. Lawton is also cool and composed, with a wit almost as sharp as his deadly aim.

So those our are picks for the moment. Whatever role Hardy takes, his presence in 'Batman 3' leaves us reasonably confident that the third installment will be crafted to the same standard as the last two films.

Who do you think Hardy should — or will — play? Let us know your thoughts below.

I hate to see it, but Tom made it on TMZ on Tuesday....

On the one hand, I guess that means he's "made it"...on the other hand, I wish they'd leave him alone. Sad ... it made me kinda sad in that respect...

I didn't catch what they were asking him. I had actually been watching the news, went outside to shovel and when I came back in the news had gone off and TMZ was on. When I walked in they were talking about an old personal picture he had posted on his old MySpace account (which he shut down a while ago) and were making fun of it. Then they switched over to him walking somewhere and the TMZ guy harrassing him, but I didn't catch what was said. Tom seemed to take it all in stride based on how he was acting, though.

I was reading magazine while getting my oil changed today and it said that Tom Hardy, Gary Oldman and Colin Firth are in a movie together..."Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy"and are awaiting someone to distribute the film.

Old news?

I don't know if it's old or new, but it's great news!! I'll have to go watch if that's true.

Tom is really coming into his own, isn't he? Funny thing, he has been around for a while but people didn't really know who he was before.

So I was reading one of those gossip mags, and they had an article that suggested something might be going on between Tom Hardy and Lindsay Lohan, even though he's engaged to someone else. Any truth to these rumors, or are they just that, rumors? We all know how oh so reliable those mags can be. How many times has Gerry been "linked" to people with no real proof?
