Want a Brush With Brawny Greatness? Rent Gerard Butler's Los Feliz Home
By Lisa Johnson Mandell | Apr 26, 2017
Who wants to help Gerard Butler make his house payments? The hunky Scottish actor is willing to rent you his four-bedroom, four-bath home for $15,000 a month.
The "300" star bought the Spanish Revival home for $3.25 million in 2008. For all we know the A-lister paid cash and doesn't have a monthly mortgage to cover, but it's fun to fantasize about doing this brawny guy a solid.
In October, Butler quietly listed the home for $4.4 million. Perhaps he had a change of heart, as the place just recently popped up as a monthly rental.
Located on a cul-de-sac in the hills of Los Feliz, the three-story home was restored by interior designer Elvis Restaino. Many of the vintage architectural details were preserved, including tilework, ceiling beams, the terra-cotta roof, arched windows, and a turret. But Restaino also updated the place with state-of-the-art sound and security systems and a digital screening room.
One of the home's more arresting features is its "dramatic and whimsical courtyard," with access to the plunge pool and spa.
Speaking of dramatic, although Butler has had great success playing security agent Mike Banning in "Olympus Has Fallen," "London Has Fallen," and the upcoming "Angel Has Fallen" (about Air Force One being taken over by terrorists), he is best remembered for his portrayal of King Leonidas in "300." The 37-year-old actor has appeared in more than 50 movies.
Butler also has a fair amount of real estate in his portfolio, including a luxury flat in Glasgow, Scotland, and a duplex loft in New York City. He's reportedly shopping for a Scottish castle. We'll keep an eye on the Highlands.
