As previously reported, the Scottish actor recently completed a three week stint at the Betty Ford Center to deal with addiction issues. "Gerard has completed a successful course of treatment and has returned home in good health," his rep said in a statement. "We will not be making any further comment at this time."

The hunky actor became involved with the actress last year, and carried on an affair with her for several months. Butler was friends with the woman and her husband before becoming sexually involved with her.

"It was a very intense relationship. She had very strong feelings for Gerard, despite the fact that she was a newlywed at the time,” a source close to the situation tells RadarOnline.com. “They would exchange heated text messages, emails and phone calls. The woman’s husband eventually found out about the affair and threatened to divorce her but she begged for another chance.

Gerard Butler has been accused of having an affair with a married woman and breaking off contact with her when she ended her marriage, reports say.

According to Radar Online, Butler's life before entering rehab in February was something out of a soap opera. Sources tell the site that Butler began a steamy affair with a married friend last year. While the woman's identity is not disclosed by the Web site, they do reveal that she is a "wanna-be actress/model," that she was a "newlywed" when the affair began, and that she had a son from a previous marriage.

"It was a very intense relationship," a source tells the site. "She had very strong feelings for Gerard, despite the fact that she was a newlywed at the time. They would exchange heated text messages, emails and phone calls. She would drop anything to be with Gerard."

The woman in question tells the Web site that this report is not true. She claims to have met Butler once at a movie premiere, and denies having a relationship with him.

However, according to Radar's source, the woman ended her new marriage to be with Butler.

"She thought Gerard wanted to be in a relationship with her," the source alleges. "She began calling Gerard incessantly and he changed his cell phone number. After Radar posted its initial report, another source contacted the site -- allegedly the woman-in-question's first husband. He adds to the salacious allegations that his marriage to the unnamed woman ended after she had an affair with musician Dave Navarro.

He furthers that he has been in contact with the woman recently, and that she did not mention an entanglement with Butler.

Sounds like they are all just rehashing the same set of comments for the most part. I notice how most of the articles refer to this woman as a wannabee/aspiring actress and model, but another article refers to her as "a very high profile Hollywood actress and model".

This affair may very well be true. Not saying it isn't, but knowing tabloid trash the way we do, I'd hate to automatically assume it's true. Who knows? I sincerely hope it isn't. If it is, then shame on both Gerry and the woman. Disgusting behavior.

But I'm hoping it's not true. I'm just taking these articles for what they are worth.

Looks like there is one original article with "It was a very intense relationship. She had very strong feelings for Gerard", and another with interviews of her first husband. Everything else is just copies of those 2. Don't people write original articles anymore?
