Gerard Butler set to break the ice at Sydney Carnival’s The Championships
GERARD Butler is set to add some star power to day one of Sydney Carnival’s The Championships.
The A-list Hollywood star, who is in Australia filming fantasy action film Gods Of Egypt, is rumoured to be attending the Icebergs marquee at Royal Randwick’s new Little Sydney hospitality precinct.
He will join a crew of Sydney identities at the ticketed event, with Maurice Terzini no doubt planning to offer up a similar vibe to Iceberg’s legendary New Year’s Day bash.
The actor is just one star in an stellar line-up of attendees at this year’s Sydney Carnival, with Simon Baker, Myer face Jennifer Hawkins and actor Grace Huang set to attend the carnival’s major race days over the next three weeks, starting with The Golden Slipper at Rosehill Gardens this Saturday.
Butler has been settling well into Sydney, being spotted enjoying all the major events around town including Handa Opera’s Madama Butterfly on Sydney Harbour and last Friday’s Roosters versus Sea Eagles NRL game. He has also been enjoying bar culture, with spy’s reporting the 300 star at Surry Hills watering hole The Winery and the opening of Casablanca bar in Double Bay.
