Last year, Glanville revealed to Andy Cohen that Butler was the most famous person with whom she’d hooked up, but when a paparazzo subsequently asked Butler about her story, the actor replied, “Who’s Brandi Glanville?”

Ouch.

Butler cleared things up during his appearance on Stern’s show, confirming that he and Glanville did sleep together — only he never learned her full name, or knew that she was on “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.”

And he wasn’t thrilled that she went public with their hookup.

Last year, the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star confessed to Andy Cohen that Gerard Butler was the most famous person she'd ever slept with during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live.

But when TMZ cameras caught up with Butler shortly after Brandi's TMI comments and informed the Playing For Keeps star that the mother of two rated him an 11 out of 10 in the bedroom, the actor simply replied "Who's Brandi Glanville?"

Probably not the response Brandi was hoping for.

But now, Butler has set the record straight, admitting to howard stern that he did sleep with Glanville, but never learned her last name or what she did for a living, so he was completely taken off guard when questioned by the paps.

Although the Chasing Mavericks star also admits he was less than pleased the former model went public with their hookup, he did tell Howard Stern he called Glanville to apologize after the embarrassing incident.

Well, that's not awkward at all.

Gerard Butler, speaking with Howard Stern Monday, acknowledged making love to Brandi Glanville, and he clarified his earlier confusion when asked about the celebrity hook-up.

Stern brought up the Brandi tryst to the dreamy Scotsman, who explained the circumstances behind his roll-in-the-hay with the Real Housewife, which she rated “11 out of 10.”

He said he crossed paths with Brandi “at a beach party,” and “had a little bit of fun” with the mother-of-two. He said in casual conversation, he asked her what she did for a living, but she changed the subject in the heat of the moment.

The 300 star said his “Who’s Brandi Glanville?” comment came when a pap ambushed him and asked him about the hook-up after she publicly bragged about it.

“You know what I said — ‘Who’s Brandi Glanville?’ — because I didn’t know her last name, didn’t know she was a celebrity, didn’t know she was gong to run out and f*cking tell everyone about it!”

Butler’s next film, Olympus Has Fallen, hits theaters on Friday, March 22. The Howard Stern Show airs weekdays on SiriusXM.

Good God this guy needs to watch his mouth. BTW at the time of Brandi, the story going around was that Brandi told all her friends that he had a thin, curved penis and he heard about it and wouldn't return her calls. It sounds like, from this Howard Stern interview, that that story is probably true.

She said that he had texted her today and there was some texting back and forth (sounds to me like he was covering his bases) and she came across as not wanting to say anything more. She also, to me, seemed to give a look like it wasn't true that he didn't know her entire name. He obviously has her number, and I assume it is listed as more than just "Brandi".

He needs to shut his mouth. He has a girlfriend now and he looks like a pig when he talks about his personal life and body parts.

May be possible she gave him a different last name. Seems to me she may have had a few. I watched a few episodes of Atlanta housewives a while back. Brandi had kids, didn't have a husband, but was dating some guy, big daddy or something, who seemed to pay her bills, then later he left her and I think she picked up a new sugar daddy.

Gerard Butler may have forgotten “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" star Brandi Glanville's name at the time, but the actor has finally come clean about his tryst with the TV personality.

"It was a one-afternooner, but it was fun," he told Howard Stern's radio show Monday. "She is wild."

Glanville, 40, who is not one to keep her personal life so personal, revealed on "Watch What Happens Live" a slightly different story recalling their time together in January 2012.

Glanville boasted that they "had a little week of fun," and she gave him an 11 out of 10 as a lover.

The 43-year-old actor found out about her remarks from a paparazzo, who told him, "Brandi Glanville says you're great in bed."

"And you know what I said: 'Who's Brandi Glanville?’" he tells Stern. "Because one, I didn't know her last name, and two, I didn't know she was a celebrity. And I didn't know she was going to f---ing tell people about it!"

"Here's the thing. You're at a beach party, you're having fun and this girl comes along," he says, explaining their meeting.

“So, what do you do? She says, 'Doesn't matter.' We hung out. We had a little bit of fun."

Once he realized who she was, he took matters in to his own hands by giving the 42-year-old blond a call.

"I said one, 'I'm not very happy you did that because there are certain things you keep a little private.' And two, 'I'm sorry I said I didn't know who you were!’"

The “Housewives" star, who graced the hot seat on "Watch What Happens Live" over a year later on Monday night, responded to Butler's confession.

"We had a little texting today, and I think he's a doll. And I feel bad for what I said," she says of what she told host Andy Cohen at the time. "He is lovely, and I appreciate him making it right."

Glanville isn’t the only one who rates Butler as top-notch: His inamorata of 10 months, model/actress Madalina Ghenea, really "does get him" and "puts up with him," he tells Stern.

"She's incredibly beautiful, sexy — she's very compassionate, super smart. And, truly, she does get me. That's nice. It's nice when somebody pins you and they know everything about you and they see it in a positive way. Honestly? I think at least HALF if not more, of those reality shows is scripted. I know that one of the "boyfriends" on the Atlanta housewives show was not the woman's boyfriend. He just "played him on tv!" Sheesh! What we consider entertainment is odd.

I only watched Housewives to see what the heck it was. Too many rich whiny women with different morals than mine. Got bored quick.

I never cared for Howard Stern or radio shows. I use radios for 2 things: music and traffic reports. Everything else coming out of radios are disembodied noises that give me splitting headaches.

Music is all that comes outta my radio, too.

Howard seeks the worst in people and always gets it. That fact isn't Howard's fault........he's been allowed to get away with it for years. I figure anyone that agrees to do his show knows whats coming!

The Brandi story made ACCESS tonight. I never watch this show, but caught it on the fly earlier this evening.
