Later that night, the 42-year-old Scottish actor made his way behind the DJ booth and chatted it up with the musicians!

Earlier in the evening, Gerard was spotted enjoying the Black Keys performance at the outdoor music festival.

Last week, while in New York City, Gerard hit up the popular hangout The Darby, where he took the stage and belted out “Wonderwall” by Oasis and “Satisfaction” by The Rolling Stones!

For many, the three-day Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is an excellent opportunity to party hard.

So perhaps it's not the ideal setting for a recovering alcoholic and painkiller addict like Gerard Butler.

With a floating row of vodka bottles lined up behind him, the recently-rehabbed actor enjoyed a Coachella festival afterparty with some friends in Indio last night.

Wearing a black suede jacket and brown slacks, the 42-year-old was seen laughing and joking with friends at the soiree as several other partygoers sat on the ground, in front of the star, drink-in-hand.

Gerard kept his untamed, curly hair covered in a brown fedora.
The actor didn't stay with his friends for long and he was soon seen chatting to many of the festival-loving females at the bash.

The crowd apparently loved his performance as one diner told The New York Post: 'He looked the best he's ever looked and had the entire restaurant singing. He killed it!'
Butler has been open in interviews about struggling with alcoholism and, last February, Butler's publicist announced that he had completed a course of treatment for substance abuse of painkillers at the Betty Ford treatment center.

Gerard was concerned that he had become too reliant on prescription painkillers while treating a surfing accident he suffered last Christmas.

The Bounty Hunter star, who is also a trained lawyer, enjoyed a flirty night out with Lindsay Lohan at the end of March.

The famous pair were sighted at Hollywood's legendary Chateau Marmont where they put on a tactile show, according to People magazine, although apparently no kisses were shared.

'The two were laughing and telling jokes, and Butler kept his hands on both sides of her chair as he leaned in close to talk,' the magazine reported, adding: 'She was soaking up the attention and even asked him to come closer so she could whisper in his ear.'
Despite Lindsay being in attendance at the festival it seemed the pair didn't manage to bump into each other.

Gerard will next be seen in Playing the Field opposite Jessica Biel, Dennis Quaid, Uma Thurman, and Catherine Zeta-Jones.

The film, released next Christmas, centers on a former professional athlete with a weak past as he tries to redeem himself by coaching his son's soccer team, only to find himself unable to resist when in scoring position with his players' restless and gorgeous moms.

He is also in the star-studded cast of the untitled Farrelly/Wessler project, a feature film comprised of short comedy segments released next year.

The Scottish heartthrob has remained sober at every festival soiree, but still can’t seem to control his love for the ladies. At the A/X Armani Exchange and T-Mobile Neon Carnival on Saturday, Butler made no secret of his latest target. Instead of hiding among the throngs of partygoers on the packed dance floor, Butler led his mystery brunette out into the open air for a seductive slow dance in an empty patch of pavement. “The two were grinding like they were at a middle school dance,” says our spy. “He didn’t seem to care who was watching.” After their spin, our spy watched Butler accompany his dance partner to the Porta-Potties before they returned to the carnival-themed bash, produced by Brent Bolthouse. Other stars at the Neon soiree included Usher, Emma Roberts, Zoe Kravitz with boyfriend Penn Badgley, Kevin Connolly, Paris Hilton, Jared Followill, Jessica Szohr and Emile Hirsch.
