Gerard Butler makes his first post-rehab appearance at the VF party: bad PR?

It was just announced last week that Gerard Butler had checked himself into rehab for his addiction issues, which may have included prescription drugs and cocaine. At the time of the announcement, Gerard had already been checked into rehab for several weeks. He got out on Friday, I believe. So what better place to go just days after rehab than a giant Hollywood party full of booze, biscuits & blow? I mean… what?

Look, Gerard looks good in these photos, taken outside the Vanity Fair party. He looks thinned out, but not strung out. Not puffy. Tan. Rested. Healthier than he has in the past year or so. But I’m still concerned. Gerard obviously has addiction issues, and wouldn’t a party like this be a huge trigger for him? Or has he just decided to indulge his sex addiction (I’m assuming, but it makes sense, doesn’t it?) and drown himself in Hollywood C-lister strange? Which is healthier for Gerard – women or coke? I’m just saying… Gerard might want to rethink this PR strategy.

And I’m including photos of Alex Skarsgard at the VF party, just so the anti-Butlers have something to look at.

This suspicion seems to be spreading. Quite a few posters are worried that the stay in rehab was shorter than the three weeks stated in various online sources, that the issue of cocaine seems to have slipped from reports now and that there may even be another reason for the sudden disclosure.

Me? I'm starting to wonder if he had surgery. The face looks too good.

I dont think its surgery but probably got a noninvasive face treatment. More men are getting that done that will admit. His face and smile look to supple for surgery or botox. We know those stars whove over done it and can barely smile without looking like their faces are going to break. He looks great__ but please gerry take a rest!

Whereas I look at his forehead and don't see too many wrinkles or movement, luv. Under the eyes, yes. In the cheeks, a little. But elsewhere, no.

I think GB had to present the best possible image of himself at this function - healthy, happy, fit, willing to work - and that it was all pulled together with that express purpose.

However, I think there is more to the original story than we may ever find out. It has also taken me back to the notorious incidents (violin girl, pap smackdown) and made me wonder how long he has been this way.

The simplest things like getting enough sleep and enough nutritious food and hydration can help you look much better. No all night parties in rehab.
