Why is this news/gossip? Sounds like the sugar packet/wobbly table rescue of the elderly couple. There was some speculation on JJ as to when there was going to be something "nice" leaked out about him since the dirty-old-man womanizer buzz was being fueled again with the young model lunch girls pics and the NYC clubbing/event hopping has stared again. Makes you kind of wonder about fluff like this. Or maybe the Villa Pacri just wanted some publicity. In any event, why is this news? What was he going to do? Trample over her spilled belongings as he walked away laughing and pointing?
Seems like normal manners to me.

(Next, he needs to work on holding the door open for women and allowing them to enter first, and chewing with his mouth closed Laughing Hahahaha.)

Quote :

Gerard Butler gets a bad rap as a playboy, but he was quite the gentleman on Thursday evening. After a rowdy dinner of black truffle pasta with the boys at Villa Pacri (where Serena Williams and Selita Ebanks dined nearby), the Scottish stud and friends came across a girl who'd tripped over her 5-inch heels in the street. While Butler helped the woman to her feet, his pals gathered her belongings and sent her on her way before the blush could fade from her face.

Maybe they're amazed he didn't exchange spit with her right there on the pavement.

I wonder how many female fans will now fall down on purpose in front of him just to get his attention.

But seriously, this is an act of kindness...but definitely not heroism. I'm sure any decent human being would have done the same (not to mention his friends actually picked up the woman's belongings). I remember when I fell back in September, two off-duty paramedics and a police officer (all male), stopped their cars, pulled off and got out of the car to help me. The paramedics bandaged me up and the policeman drove me home. I was very grateful. Had any of these men been celebrities, it would have been plastered all over the news. However, to them it was all just another day (if not a less mundane one). Wink

Maybe they're sick and tired of only bad or nasty things being reported, and want to see good things sometimes. I rarely watch the news because of the bad and nasty things.

It's nice to hear of celebrities doing mundane, everyday good things that everyone does. Not everything celebrities do are spectacular or extravagant.

Seeing GB doing normal good things makes me feel like his large spectacular charitable acts are sincere, and not just news and reputation fodders.

It was a nice gesture and I like hearing about the mundane good things, too. I will give him kudos on this one.
