Posting personal information - PLEASE READ

As administrator of this board, I am allowing members the flexibility to discuss things that some other boards might not. However, there is a fine line between discussion and intrusion, and as administrator I get the tough and not always popular responsibility of determining which is which.

That being said, I have made a certain thread 'invisible' that was started on this forum this evening with regards to the woman Gerry was seen with at the arcade last Monday. Let me just say that I can't nor do I want to control what members here say and do on their own personal time and on other websites - but as administrator of this forum, I am responsible for what happens here.

Ask yourself this question: would posting personal information about one of Gerry's dates be something Gerry would be happy with you doing? Would attempting to "befriend" one of Gerry's dates, girlfriends, family members, significant others, etc. in an effort to find out dirt on Gerry be something Gerry would be happy with you doing?

I established this community to be a haven for people to be themselves and have fun in a SAFE environment, and the last thing I want to do is censor anybody. But I also want this place to be a RESPECTABLE community - one that Gerry would be proud of if he or his people were to ever venture onto this site. Yes, I realize that other sites are allowing her name and/or personal information to be posted on their forums and/or message boards - but it won't be allowed here. If and when Gerry comes out publically with a significant other and shares that information with the world, then I will change my stance. But until then, it is treading upon her privacy as well as his.

Again, let me reiterate - what you do on your own time and away from this site is your business. But I'm asking, in all honesty and sincerity - please don't bring that stuff over here.
