Gerard Butler Covers 'Architectural Digest' May 2010

Gerard Butler covers the May 2010 issue of Architectural Digest, on newsstands Tuesday, April 6!

“I wanted something elegant and gorgeous and at the same time rather masculine and raw. I guess I would describe the apartment as bohemian old-world rustic chateau with a taste of baroque,” The 40-year-old Scottish stud shared.

“I knew it was going to take a lot of work to turn the loft into a place where I actually wanted to live. But I didn’t realize it would be four years before I spent the night,” Gerry admitted.

Find out what Gerry plans to do next to complete his home at ArchitecturalDigest.com!

Thanks Dallas. Nice cover shot.

“I guess I would describe the apartment as bohemian old-world rustic château with a taste of baroque.”

Seems like a tall ask to me.

Ahhhh. The painting. I asked a friend about it. It is a homoerotic painting where the bisexual God Zeus takes the young lad for his lover.

Is GB trying to say something without saying it? I mean does he think all of his fans are silly stupid fangurls who believe anything he says?

Gerard Butler Finds Another Way to Woo Women

Architectural Digest
Despite all the speculation, Gerard Butler is most likely not dating his Bounty Hunter costar, Jennifer Aniston. But this might get her interested.

No, we're not referring to Gerry's charming pose on the cover of Architectural Digest—two months after her own house porn spread—but rather the photos inside that reveal the actor's gorgeous renovated loft in NYC.

"I guess I would describe the apartment as bohemian old-world rustic château with a taste of baroque," Gerard tells the mag about his pad that features 13-foot-tall mahogany doors, ceiling frescos and crystal chandeliers.

Did we mention it's two stories with an adjoining roof terrace? In Manhattan, that's worth a date alone.

Tune in to E! News tonight at 7 p.m. for a peak into Gerard's bedroom!

Gerard Butler is finally home
Posted: 03:53 PM ET

It took Gerard Butler four years before he finally spent the night - in his own home.

The actor and heartthrob said he knew his 3,300-square-foot, two-story loft in New York’s Chelsea district was going to need a lot of work.
“I wanted something elegant and gorgeous and at the same time rather masculine and raw,” Butler said. “I guess I would describe the apartment as bohemian old-world rustic chateau with a taste of baroque.”

Butler will grace Architectural Digest’s May cover. The magazine will feature photos of his pad, which is still not yet complete, as well as his decorating inspirations.

Film designer Elvis Restaino, who helped bring Butler’s complex vision to life, said “We re-created things that came into Gerry's life - from his travels in Europe or even from an old coffee shop in New York.”

Butler’s apartment - furnished with 13-foot-tall mahogany doors, crystal chandeliers and limestone lions - is a place “to retreat and spend time on my own,” he said.

“New York is such a frenetic, crazy city, so I love to use the place for just some peace and quiet.”

Hasn't he been "finally home" for a couple of years now?

And didn't he just say, recently, that he calls LA home?

scratch

Or maybe he "considers the world his oyster". bounce

I went next door with a friend to get some coffee at the Barnes and Noble this evening and I saw the Architectural Digest with Gerry on the cover. I guess the May edition is out. Anyway, as I was waiting for my friend to get her coffee, I read/looked at the magazine.

Unless you have some other reason to buy this magazine, I would not buy it for the article or pictures. The article is short, and most of the pics are on the A.D. site and the other links that I posted. I think there are 3 addititonal pics: a pic of the other seating area in the living room (apart from the tv seating area), the dining area, and the foyer. The pics look pretty much like the ones on Elvis' site but with a little staging. Nothing really different. The article talks a little about the design etc. but again, nothing new - some quotes from Elvis etc. and something about how Gerry would like to redo the second story and the terrace area. That's about it.

The only think that stood out to me: in the dining table pic, they set the dining table to look kind of like breakfast, with orange juice and coffee cups and granola with fruit in cereal bowls.....the orange juice glasses had pole dancers on them. Yes, they are tall, clear glasses with a cartoon-like drawing of a woman in a bra, underwear, long gloves and boots swinging around a pole --kind of like a Betty Boop but sexier and without the big head. Kind of like Wonder Woman, remember that cartoon?
Probably no one will notice that but me. It was so odd.......

That's all I can remember. Really nothing exciting. Wait for the scans and save yourself 6 bucks.
