Jen Aniston Dines in L.A., Gerard Parties in NYC

Although costars Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler hung in L.A. last week after they finished filming The Bounty in NYC, they're doing their own things in separate cities now.

Last night, Jen hit Sunset Tower Hotel for dinner with her girlfriends, but their ladies-only outing didn't last long.

"She went over to three gentlemen at the bar and asked them to join her table for dinner," an eyewitness tells E! News. The men gladly obliged, natch.

The group of six dinned on fish and had four rounds of drinks brought to the table throughout the night.

But one guy in particular seemed to get Jen's attention...

"She seemed as if she knew one of them, but not as if she had planned on seeing him," says the eyewitness of Jen's man. "She continuously put her hand on his back and gently rubbed it throughout the evening."

The two even ended up leaving together, hopping into Jen's SUV at the end of the night.

Gerry's been making new friends in NYC, too.

After attending the VMAs on Sunday, the hunky Scot hit Jay-Z's afterparty at 1Oak where he was seen flirting with multiple ladies.

On Monday, he went to Rebecca Minkoff's fashion show, where he had a front and center position to watch models strut and then hung with the designer backstage.

Maybe Jen will spill to Chelsea Handler about her mystery man when she's a guest on Cheslea Lately this Thursday night.
