I've never flown first class, but I've flown overseas business and it was pretty comfy. I'm guessing first class seats are a lot like a nice big cushy easy chair, easy to sleep in.

I thought you had flown first class before, Julie. I did once, in March this year when I went to NY, I was allowed to upgrade. I would never book first class, but I would definitely recommend upgrading if you get the chance. I think it was something like $70 (depends on the trip), but they waived my baggage fees, fed me a huge meal, and the wine was included in the price (with free refills...LOL). So I figure in the long run I was probably only paying about $20 extra. Had I had 2 checked bags, I probably would have came out even.

The seats are big, comfy, and you can stretch out - especially if you're short and small. You get treated different up there, too. Not that coach attendants aren't friendly, but I was treated like royalty up front. In addition, I had no one in the seat next to me, either. It was great (and I missed the screaming bratty child I most likely would have been sitting near had I not upgraded - it was a good investment).

I wish! Never had the cheap upgrade option either. One of these days...
