Gerard Butler: Jennifer Aniston's My "Best Buddy"

How is Gerard Butler handling the madness that comes along to being romantically linked to Jennifer Aniston?

With a sense a humor -- for the most part.

"It depends what mood I'm in, [but] most of the time I just laugh it off," the gorgeous actor told UsMagazine.com at the NYC premiere of The Ugly Truth Thursday night.

"The first few times it's happened, I actually got really upset by it because you think, 'somebody made that up,' and it's a little bit ridiculous. But then you think, 'Oh, you know what...it's just silly. Then there are days it just frustrates you," he said. "One day, we had dinner when we first discussed the movie, and that day she had been linked to three different people! I was already one of them."

Gerard also says that Jen has managed to still find the humor in all the rumors, and that she "completely laughs" at all the talk that they are dating.

"Listen, there's nobody that's been more subject to these rumors than her, so I think she's just learned to...most of the time, you can blow it off," he said.

Still, there does seem to be a mutual affection between these two.

"She's like my best buddy," he said. "She's so down-to-earth, so easy going. She's incredibly self-deprecating and again, just alive! I'm having fun doing this!

"I'm lucky right now!" he went on. "Little boy from Scotland did good!"

Friendship often turns to romance -- especially on movie sets -- so don't count these two out just yet.

I still hope they hook up, but that's just me.

Anyways, it could never hurt to be a buddy of G's could it.
